If one were to put a dry rub on a piece of meat, does one put the dry rub on all sides of the meat––or merely on the top?

Could you please explain what is a Dirty Santa food gift?

Welcome @Ralphie Baby. I can see by the attitudes in your post that you fit right in amongst eGulleters! Hope you have fun here. -
As is, for me. (I'm sure it's tasty warmed too.) Probably, if there is any left in a couple of days, I might try warming it. 😂 It has a subtle scent of oranges.

Received my chocolate panettone from Goûter this morning. Looks just like @ElsieD's ! I'm going to have a slice for snack this afternoon. Will report.

In this post, @liamsaunt lists a coating for fried fish which uses very fine cornmeal and flour. I bought some cornmeal today, but I've had second thoughts. Mostly our fish is done in the Anova steam oven until it's about 114ºF. If the flour is not cooked, it will taste lousy, yes? Does anyone have a good fish coating that will work with sous vide?

Outstanding, @OlyveOyl ! Do you have a recipe for how you made yours? (Please). -

What is that, @liuzhou?

@liamsaunt, thanks for these recipes. I'm interested to try them! I'm also curious about the fried fish coating. Could you please say what goes in the Spicy Variation?

I'm going to call Breville and find out whether the Paradice 9 is able to use a disc peeler and the smaller dicing blade(s).

Yes, I have had one Cuisinart SG-10 Electric Spice-and-Nut Grinder for 15 years or so. The bucket goes in the dishwasher. Most stuff gets ground well; exceptions might be large pieces of dry ginger.

@OlyveOyl, did you use part of a purchased pie crust or homemade pastry for that lovely custard pie? Yes, I'd love the jam recipe. Thanks. For anyone else interested, here is Tot's Egg Custard Pie. -
@ElsieD, some while ago there was a discussion about 2 Breville food processors and yours did not use the accessory that the other one did. Do you remember the discussion? And which 2 food processors were discussed? I have just given up in frustration being unable to close the lid on my current ill-fitting workbowl for the Cusinart Custom 7. Grrrr. So I chopped all my veggies in the Vidalia Chop Wizard Pro Max. But it was a pain because I had to steam the carrots in the Anova Oven so they would be soft enough to chop with the Vidalia. Grrr.

OlyveOyl, these look delicious and attractive. Do you have a recipe for this? -
Please report if you do make the bread @ElsieD or @Shel_B.

Coming out of the sous vide this afternoon will be duck legs 160ºF for 28 hours, tomorrow I will have lamb shank from this post . I'd like to add some spices. For the duck I have Chinese Five Spice from SpiceTrekkers. How do I apply this spice post sous vide?

@Laurentius, get some of these mini spatula/spoonula sets from Thermoworks too. Extremely useful.
-
I did indeed @rotuts.

A good result. So that's a win on all counts by my reckoning.

I couldn't find what I wanted so called up LLBean and the person told me that items not in stock wouldn't show up on website inventory. She knew I wanted the 15% off, so she went ahead and backordered them for me. I had Bean Bucks, so the package ended up costing me zero. What a deal!
