  1. Yeah. It’s just an interesting observation. I feel fairly certain that the word Dijon did appear on these jars in the past. I just double checked and I misspoke! Sorry. The word Dijon does appear on the original. Notice also that the numbers are different.
  2. I became curious about the availability here. I learned that nowhere on the label of the Maille brand (original or old-style*) does the word Dijon appear. Nor do I see it on your jar of Wholegrain. *equivalent to Wholegrain.

    Liverwurst

Thanks. It might’ve seemed a bit unfair to ask for your input but I still appreciate it. I did want to know how it was viewed in Germany and I appreciate that you were able to answer that.

    Liverwurst

I did a bit of research and learned that the Braunschweiger is smoked? Not sure that I buy into this story so I’m hoping we’ll still hear from @Duvel.

    Liverwurst

I bet @Duvelcould explain the difference.
  6. As soon as my kids could handle solid food they knew how to make a peanut butter sandwich to cover those occasions when they found fried liver etc., unsuitable for their delicate palates. I am not @liamsaunt. 😂
  7. What gorgeous looking eggs. Your willingness to accommodate so many likes and dislikes sometimes amazes me. I don’t think I could be quite so easy-going.
  8. I think I would find myself wondering if I should reach for the chopsticks or a scalpel and some forceps.
  9. Yes. I do know that potable water is a scarce resource in many parts of the world. For some reason I did not think that urban China was one of them. Even here many indigenous peoples are still waiting for potable tap water. An inexcusable situation.
  10. Thanks. I had no idea that this was the case. Your photographs of the area around where you live fooled me into thinking you have the same municipal services as we do.
  11. For once I am speechless.

    Dinner 2022

And we know the value of authenticity so shouldn’t it be ploughed?
  13. I wanted to give @lemniscatean opportunity to respond before I jumped in. There are a couple of very reasonable YouTube videos available that compare the two methods. I simply googled steam canning.
  14. I just edited my post. I meant to say it is only recently that! Somehow I didn’t correct my typo but it is corrected now. Yes,, I see that it is recommended to add lemon juice even if you are water canning tomatoes. Thank you.
  15. I am pretty sure you live alone most of the time but for the rest of them and their knife collections I sure hope they have got conflict resolution down to a fine art.
  16. I don’t intend to can anything but this certainly piqued my curiosity. I have spent a couple of hours down steam-canning rabbit holes. From what I gather it is only recently that enough research has been done to prove this method is safe if done correctly. Doesn’t look to me as if steam canning of tomatoes is a doable option unless you’re adding a considerable amount of acid into the mix. Am I correct in this assumption? (However, my admiration for @Shelbygrew by leaps and bounds as I watched a YouTube of someone canning tomatoes using other methods.)
  17. Although @Kerry Bealhad discovered a newly opened Ramen joint Oakville we were still a little burned from our last attempt to try a new restaurant. So we thought we had a clear winner when we ordered from Kenzo. But as we all know you don’t always win. This again was a bit disappointing. my photos of lunch did not turn out well at all. But it looked very similar to Kerry‘s. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen. Kerry’s KIng Ramen. As you will notice the pork is not what one traditionally expects. It is not even what we always get from this restaurant. It was devoid of any fat hence quite dry and tasteless. Pork tenderloin maybe. Certainly not the advertised roasted pork shoulder. Sigh. The side dish is Gyoza and chicken Karaage.

    Lunch 2022

I have been worrying, too. edited to add on July 20 he said 2/3 of his household tested positive for Covid.

    Rice Cookers

I know. It is the way I think. 😂
  20. I don’t think I understood at any point previous to this that you were contemplating cooking the branches as you call them. I don’t think there is much you can do with these unless you have the patience to peel each one which is really challenging. Watching the video upthread even M. Pépin appears to discard them.
  21. Congratulations. Reading the ad copy I was almost convinced until I bumped into this sentence: “Also, this is the only kitchen knife to make the Kessel Run in under 12 par-secs.” I am afraid it would get away from me every single time.
