That would work for me. And it might even work for you in the future. I often find myself searching for my own dishes on eG.
-
I am really, really hoping you wrote down the recipe and would be willing to share it. It does look so good.

It’s not space on my iPad that limits me but cash on my gift card.

Well it appears that meal kits have made it to my favourite supermarket. Click. I will take one for the team when I get a chance to visit this grocery store.

I caved and I’m glad I did. Did you?
-
And why would that be? The dish certainly looks attractive.

The only one that interested me was The Sprouted Kitchen title. I checked before Amazon embarrassed me and discovered that yes, indeed, I do own it. Has some recipes that appeal to me, too! We need a button on Amazon which will not allow you to buy another Kindle book until you’ve made five recipes from the one you just bought.

Not sure in the 21st-century that I would actually be recommending a cookbook. I think I might lean towards either online videos or DVDs by such people as Jacques Pepin, Sara Moulton and their ilk along with their books for back up.

Loved this. Loved the leftovers.

So I will admit upfront that though the word stovie sounded familiar I had to look up the meaning. That led me down the rabbit hole. Many of the photos of the recipes I found make the dish look rather revolting. Yours, on the other hand, looks quite edible. I might even say tasty. What is your secret? I am particularly interested in any liquid you might have used.

What I wanted for breakfast Click. What I actually had for breakfast. From my freezer — a pastry-based mushroom “pizza”. What happened? I opened the fridge to grab my leftover sandwich from lunch yesterday. I couldn’t see it. I tore the fridge apart. I checked the freezer. I checked the microwave. No sandwich. I live alone. The two cats that are currently my house guests have not yet learned how to open refrigerator. I checked the fridge again. I checked the freezer again. I checked the microwave again. I finally found my sandwich in the cupboard where I keep my empty and clean refrigerator containers. It was long past being edible. I obviously had a serious CRAFT moment yesterday. (Can’t remember a **** thing.).

Are you generally a “one of cook” or a “repeater”?
Anna N replied to a topic in Food Traditions & Culture
I did modify my question with the word “generally”. I don’t think anyone falls into either camp completely. But it is interesting to notice a pattern. -
And there are people who think we are all sophisticates.

I used Robin Hood Best for Bread flour. It has a protein content of 13.3% I believe. I suspect that if byrek is anything like borek then you probably need something much closer to phyllo.

Over here I expressed my concern about the failure to mention the largely gluten-free dessert section of Tartine Everday by Elizabeth Pruitt. But since I had purchased the book I was determined to at least try a couple of the recipes and bought the necessary gluten-free flours to do so. I was not impressed with the brownies but tonight I attempted the Fresh Ginger Cookies. Texture wise they don’t quite measure up to my ideal ginger cookie but these are good enough that I suspect not many would realize they are gluten-free. I think they are good enough to send off with my son-in-law tomorrow without pointing out their gluten-freeness. I know how I react when somebody offers me something and tells me it’s gluten-free so I’m hoping that by not mentioning it I will get some sort of report back that is free of any such bias.

There has been far too much discussion of gravy lately and a gal can only resist so long. I had two sausages left over from making sausage rolls this morning and this recipe in my mailbox. Not much could be any easier or make fewer dirty dishes. I deviated from the recipe in terms of quantities. After all there is only me. And I bought myself some insurance against lumpy gravy by using a stick blender to bring the gravy components together before adding them to the baking dish.

To be honest this is one of two smoked duck breasts that I picked up from my favourite supermarket in error! I did seriously consider a personal beverage to go along with my duck but vetoed it hoping to accomplish other things today. A couple of personal beverages and I mostly just want to nap. Even one can do it on a good day.
-
Thinly sliced smoked duck breast, lingonberry sauce, shredded lettuce, blue cheese crumbles on crispbread. Hit all the right notes – – salty, sweet, creamy, crisp, smoky. I ended up eating only one and putting the other one in the refrigerator.

A woman after my own heart.

Oh. Somehow I had it in my mind that it came with at least one pot.

This is what they said: “Thank you for providing me with that information. This type of issue is caused by a problem with the pressure sensor, and you will need a new cooker base.”
-
Well it took a little back-and-forth between me and the support people but they are shipping me a new base. They do not require return of the old base but suggest I recycle it according to my municipality rules.

Not sure why gravy should be any more of a potential hazard than any other leftover. I am inclined to limit leftovers to three days which is probably anal. I would also seriously consider pouring it into an ice cube tray and freezing it. When there’s only one of you a couple of cubes of gravy can be enough.
