What is so shocking? Roasted broccoli is almost as eye-opening as roasted cauliflower.

Thanks for doing this. It was a cheap trip for me. I only wanted two of them and I already had those .

Second attempt and second fail. This time it certainly was not a missing ingredient. I think it is time to abandon this recipe. These things for the most part simply disintegrate if you attempt to pick them up. Ridiculous as coconut macaroons have to be one of the easiest cookies to make. There is something missing so I will find another recipe. But not for a while. Coconut is not the cheapest ingredient and I’m tired of throwing it away. I have lots of other recipes for cookies that don’t involve coconut that I am anxious to bake.

On another thread @Toliver said, ”I'm sure from-scratch pancakes taste great. But when you're raised eating pancakes made from Bisquick, that's what you tend to prefer. “ He’s not the only one to observe this phenomenon. I gave up making macaroni and cheese and mushroom soup from scratch because my granddaughter would turn her nose up at it. “It just doesn’t taste right, Nan.” What she meant was that it didn’t taste like the food she was accustomed to. I, too, find that some things MUST be bought not made. Jamaican patties. I’ve made my own and they were good but secretly I still prefer the ones I buy. And not just any but a particular brand. There are others but this is what comes to mind on the spur of the moment What about you when you’re alone and the blinds are drawn? Do you go for southern biscuits made with White Lily Flour or “snap it on the edge of the counter” Pillbury’s? With your grilled cheese will it be homemade tomato soup or will it be Campbell’s?

Apparently it’s a thing.

So following a health regimen which apparently these things are supposed to promote will deprive one of the strength to stir a drink? Doesn’t hold much water with me.

Who knew there were so many recognized versions. Thank you. Three versions of Georgian cheese bread. And I’ll still bet that this only skims the surface. Nonetheless I have a vision in my head and it will take a lot to nudge it out of there.

Nope, they are definitely not reaching out to that market since the gadget is not dishwasher nor microwave safe. And if it’s not aimed the disabled then this becomes rather laughable: ”No spoon any more, simply press the STIR button and the hard work has been done for you.” That is from the product description.

I am sure there are as many interpretations of this bread as there are Georgians who eat it. Nonetheless this is the picture I have of Georgian cheese bread. This could explain why your photograph was so hard to interpret — for me at least.

Did not look this pink in real life! Small salad/salsa of tomatoes, scallions, jalapeño and lime juice. Split mini pita topped with ham, scallions, mozzarella and cheddar and given a brief trip under the broiler before being sprinkled with a little smoked paprika.

Wow! You mean I can grow asparagus in my bed? Never would’ve thought of that.

Hate those damn crevices.

No I am not likely to take an escalator by mistake. I have an irrational fear of the damn things.
-
Such a complicated solution. I just lick the plate.
-
I chicken out and use the elevator. There are carts available on the second floor and they are quite different In construction from the ones that go on to the escalators.
-
Explanation of cart escalators. Should’ve said example rather than explanation.
-
Heck even we have them! With the same special escalator to take the carts. I positively hate them.

If that is horseradish I see then I congratulate you on your generosity. That’s about how much I would like on that sandwich. Balance be damned.

This was a bit of an experiment so I thought I would share it. I had a leftover piece of chicken and a leftover smashed potato which I wanted to re-heat for my dinner last night. But I also wanted something green. The night before I had steamed the broccoli separately in the microwave. Last night I put it on the plate, raw, to see what might happen. The plate (enamelled cast iron) was placed into the Cuisinart steam oven and cook for 20 minutes at 350°F on the steam/bake function. Nothing came out of the oven as perfectly as it might have done had I had the time and energy to do things separately. But on the other hand everything was perfectly acceptable and for someone who was tired and grumpy it worked. I have had far worse meals made by myself and by others.
