They get my vote for a snack when the day has not gone well.

You asked. No! But I’ve been wrong before.

I am alone and I just totally lost it.

Missed that window.

I was intrigued by this. And having been under the weather for the last couple of days needed something simple but good. I shall be replenishing my supply of canned artichoke hearts should another occasion arise or just because.

Only if you attempt to cook with candles.

Good thinking. Baby steps.

There is only me and the amount of spinach I am likely to consume can be handled quite readily by an “orange size” press. I, too, have a ricer it but I find it much fiddlier and a huge space hog.

Nothing yet has had the power to inspire me to haul out mine. I console myself with knowing is still in mint (collectors’) condition.

Damn good book if you are interested in small batch canning and/or fermenting.

There is a recipe for soba noodles In the book Takashi’s Noodles. And the Cooking with Dog series on YouTube has a recipe for udon noodles. I am also pretty sure there is a recipe kicking around for making Ramen or for using an alkali to improve the texture of a the noodles to make them resemble Ramen. Cannot remember off the top of my head.

Yet another trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake for Kerry and I to deliver stuff for the chocolate workshop. This time we decided to return to August (not to be confused with August 8 which is an all you can eat sushi place). Mississippi pot roast sandwich and a simple greens salad for Kerry. Baked seafood gratin and a baby greens salad for me. Our first instinct was to go for another winery lunch. We should’ve followed it.

There is a reason that some of our means are designated “discretionary”. There is no way in hell I would spend even two cents a pound for beans. On the other hand you might well be shocked at what I am prepared to spend on certain things at certain times.
