Yes if it damages the enamel enough that the surface is no longer slick and everything that you try to cook in there sticks to the pot.

That is wonderful that you have not damaged your Dutch oven. Apparently I’m not alone in managing to damage mine.

I find with many items that I don’t need immediately and that do not require refrigeration just leaving them alone for five days will probably work just fine. The virus does not seem to live beyond the five day mark on most surfaces and even less on some surfaces.

A glimpse at the challenges facing food delivery services in Ottawa, Canada. I suspect we can safely extrapolate to all other areas facing similar challenges.

Taking a page out of @Ann_T’s book. Lamb stew for breakfast along with a couple of slices of a purchased baguette from my freezer.

Breakfast yesterday morning. Campari tomatoes on toasted rye with store-bought Caesar dressing. Not sure if it was the breakfast or the anxiety-producing news that came just before. Either way breakfast and I agreed to disagree.

Yep but it won’t make any difference. If it is enamelled that is. If you have a cast-iron one that is not enamelled it will work very well and I don’t believe you can damage it. edited to add: oops looks like your question was already answered more or less.

Are you kidding me? They must always eat alone if so.

What a great idea. I’m going to file that for future reference.

Uh? I have never seen a dinner from you that wasn’t nice.

One swallow does not a summer make. Keep doing it and you will ruin the pan for anything else. But I know that does not concern you. So enjoy your bread and your bread making.

There was recently talk elsewhere on eG about Lipton‘s onion soup mix and sour cream as a dip. The first thing I learned is that it is no longer Lipton‘s. It is now Knorr’s. Second thing I learned or should I say re-learned is that with my dentition raw carrots are probably not the best choice. But damn that dip was as good as I remember it.

For certain we need contact. We are all social beings including we introverts. But I am noticing among my friends and my family that those who are party animals or even just very outgoing are finding the restrictions harder to bear then those of us who are accustomed to stretches of isolation. Before this virus changed things, I had direct contact with another human being once a week (most of the time) and left my house once a week. So the isolation didn’t seem much of a change. But here’s the most surprising thing. Since the virus, I have more indirect contact with more people than ever before! At least three hours of my day is taken up by texting, FaceTiming etc. I find it quite heartwarming on the one hand and disconcerting on the other. 😂

Not to be flippant but indeed for we introverts— our time has come.

Green bell peppers. I see someone else already responded.

But but but…… Who am I trying to keep out?

Yeeeww. Those things are not coming into my house.

I nearly drove my daughter to distraction when I mentioned this at 11 o’clock last night! She was threatening to go on break in the supermarkets looking for lobster.

That is so very kind of you but please don’t worry about it I can live without frozen veg for quite some time. I have other vegetables and I managed to get some canned corn. I am positive the shelves will be restocked very shortly. But again I do thank you for your kind offer.

Thanks! We could do a swap because I have quite a number of cans of coconut milk in my pantry. They have been there a while so not recently purchased.
