Well of all the ingredients in your salad, Paul, it’s the pickled celery that is creating a stir. Care to let us in on your pickling method?

After I posted I wished I had said, “Love to be in on their sex Ed classes“.
-
I know you don’t like celery and I would be the last person to try and persuade you to change your mind but I do know that pickled celery was an eye-opener for me. Not a life changer but an eye-opener.

Lady Rams? What kind of an education do you think those kids get? LOL.

They certainly won’t be as good as “real” pizza crusts (as you well know) but I keep a package of commercial naan in my freezer for a quick faux pizza and they work quite well. I am tempted to call them “dressed flatbreads” rather than pizzas, though. Not that anybody cares since I’m the only one who eats them! The rest of your meal looks mouthwatering.

I do hope you have better luck with The Family Meal than I did! Or perhaps they have fixed the problems. See. Looking forward to the meals that I know you will prepare from these books. Hope both the books and the meals bring you joy.

And being Canadian we like to stay middle of the road. Used to claim that it would last for six weeks after opening. My sister called that false advertising and swore it never lasted more than two weeks.

He was interviewed on CBC today and I was lucky enough to catch it. I’m not much up for cooking at the moment but if I were I would be grabbing this book for sure.

I used to love stemmed wine glasses until a very good friend would knock one over almost every time he joined us for dinner. I wasn’t worried about the wine glasses but about his embarrassment so we compromised. These are not quite the shape that we bought but very similar. Short stemmed wine glasses.

Money for charity not for lawyers.

Shoot and cook the rabbit and you get meat and vegetable in one dish. So little cleanup.

I suspect I abandoned the whole idea! Certainly I have no recollection of making this recipe.

This is not bringing any kind of a bell with me.

Well, mostly careful. “I think it came from a splinter I gave myself months ago,”😂 Unless giving yourself splinters is a hobby that we haven’t yet heard about. 😂😂

I almost forgot to post lunch this week. @Kerry Beal mentioned she’d enjoyed pizza from a place near where she works in Hamilton. Good pizza is hard to come by here so I thought that this would be a good choice. Kerry’s selection was black olives sun-dried tomato and pepperoni. Mine was my usual mushroom and pepperoni. lots and lots of leftovers in my freezer!

Just saying...

Here. “On Thursday, Marks & Spencer said it had begun legal action against Aldi to “protect” Colin from the discount grocer’s rival chocolate sponge roll Cuthbert which, for a smaller fee, has been masquerading as Colin at birthday parties and on picnics.” perhaps it really belongs in the food funnies topic!

The butter tart finally gets its day the limelight
Anna N replied to a topic in Food Traditions & Culture
Hmmm. Might be great tarts but only one might possibly be a buttertart. -
We will all be waiting with bated breath until it is used!

So the formatting led me to believe that this recipe called for me to slice lentils. This just seemed like a bridge too far.

Coping in the kitchen? Brings to mind that old: Q What are you making for dinner? A Reservations!

Not like any parsnips I’ve eaten and I eat a lot of parsnips. Could it be parsley root?

If it were enamelled cast iron I would have grabbed it in a heartbeat. Makes a marvellous water bowl for pets. They can’t tip it over or push it all over the place.

Who knew that the USDA could wax poetic? Wow!

I kept reading but my conscience told me that I was no better than a rubbernecker viewing the blood and gore of a major traffic accident. I may need to go to confession very soon. 😂
