Ooni now makes an indoor model. See it here.
-
Anyone here own one? With Fall coming I'm tempted to buy one but there are a whole lot of options and prices. The Breville and the Ooni appear to be the top-of-line models and are pretty pricey. And then there are many other brands and designs.

This is mine. Not a salt 'pig' but with its lid it saves me having to clean up the salt spilled wen I knock over the container. These comes in sets of various sizes, often the lids are sold separately. Useful for many things.

I have a rather large stockpile of dried beans in my pantry. I'll make it my job to sort through those in dispose of any that seem to have reached their end. Anymore it seems that canned beans are preferred and I plan to be a little more selective when buying. There really aren't a lot that I need to keep on hand anyway these days.

I'll be quite interested in your take on the NY Steaks once you've had the opportunity to try them I've had my eye on those for a while.

I have the Fellowes and, indeed, it is cool looking. It is white and is stunning sitting next to my Fellowes burr grinder. (That grinder is the best!)

My wish when designing my current kitchen was to have a full size refrigerator next to a full size freezer...ala Subzero. Hideously expensive and prone to pricey repairs (if one could get proper service done in MT). So I still have the French door fridge in the kitchen along with two upright freezers and a fridge-only unit in the garage. Not ideal and I don't like schlepping in and out to get items from the garage.

If my Mom were still here, she'd be looking for pieces of liver.

Nah. I just have less patience.

I particularly dislike grating cheese by hand. I'll happily hand wash every part of my 7-cup Cuisinart to avoid doing it.

I posted a while ago somewhere here about my new laundry pair. After having used an LG washer and dryer some time ago at a vacation rental I was keen to purchase that brand to replace my 17 y/ Kenmore Elite set. Finally got them installed (it took a while since the delivery guys can't hook up gas appliances and my dryer is gas). Beautiful...Love all the new bells and whistles now. Steam in the wash and the dryer too! All kinds of options for water temp, length of time, speed, etc. I'm checking everywhere to find more items to wash! Never thought that would ever happen! Top load washer for me, I didn't care for the front loaders. Top loader with impeller for me Gas dryer with steam

Feeling the need for comfort food since summer foods are getting a little boring. Found a new (to me) recipe that I' prepare tonight. It's a bonus that it goes together quickly in this hot weather. (recipe from TheSlowRoastedItalian.com) Skillet Chicken Pot Pie ▢3 tablespoons unsalted butter ▢1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into bite size pieces ▢1/2 teaspoon black pepper ▢1/2 teaspoon kosher salt ▢1/4 cup all-purpose flour ▢3 cups chicken stock ▢2 cups frozen vegetables, (corn, peas and carrots) ▢3 ounces fresh Parmesan cheese, grated ▢1 teaspoon dried parsley ▢2 cups all-purpose flour ▢2 ounces fresh Parmesan cheese, grated ▢1 tablespoon baking powder ▢1 tablespoon granulated sugar ▢1/2 teaspoon kosher salt ▢1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted ▢1 cup whole milk INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 450°F. Melt butter in a (10-inch) oven safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook until chicken is browned, about 2 minutes each side. Add flour and whisk to combine. Slowly add chicken stock while whisking skillet. Whisk until well combined. Add in vegetables and cheese. Stir to combine. Reduce heat to medium. Allow mixture to come to a boil, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile: In a large mixing bowl combine flour, cheese, baking powder, sugar and salt. Whisk to combine well. Add butter and milk. Stir to combine. Drop biscuits by the rounded tablespoon full on top of pot pie. Place skillet on cookie sheet and then slide into the oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until biscuits are golden brown. Sprinkle with fresh parsley, serve and enjoy.

Prices today are shocking. Looking at melon prices here and I see nearly $9.00 each !!! Eek! I'm of the 'get off my lawn' ilk also and remember when they were 39 cents* each. Unfreakingbelivable. (Many of us can remember when the cent sign was still available on our keyboards.)

A girl after my won heart! Now I will have to try them!!!

Not sure what is the right thing to do but mine just goes into my big garbage trolley.

I'm doing my herbs in my little hydroponic Aerogarden these days. Never had any luck with growing them outdoors. The parsley, dill, basil and thyme are doing great and I can only imagine how nice it will be in the dead of winter to have them all in a pretty decent quantity. The lettuce has been surprising....I can't keep up with it, I may have to 'zucchini' it to my neighbors. I have two of these gardens now because I still want to grow cilantro, chives, rosemary and maybe a colorful flower or two to brighten up the cold and dark days that will come.

Never good news for the consumer.
