  1. Thanks Anna. It started out from stock I made from fish carcasses, shrimp shells and aromatics that I had in the freezer. To flavor it further I added lemongrass and let it simmer a while. My wife was running late so I had to keep adding water as it simmered. Just before serving I added gojuchang then thin sliced carrots, shallots and celery and pulled the lemongrass out. Then added green onion, the noodles ( they cook so fast) and the fish. The fish was also smeared with the gojuchang before searing
  2. Salmon in an aromatic seafood broth with green noodles
  3. I recently cut kernels from 5 ears of toasted corn before leaving town for a few days. All stashed in the freezer It's been a while since I've made corn fritters and Nina's look great. Just the inspiration I needed.
  4. This morning we enjoyed a bowl of watermelon, and a greened flesh cantaloupe with Valbreso French Feta and fresh basil.
  5. @Jon Savage The Stir Crazy has done well for me. On my third in over 10 yrs. Still a cheap way to roast with decent results. Did the heat gun dog bowl for a short while but couldn't deal with standing there stirring for 10+ minutes. I even connected my heat gun to a mic stand so I didn't have to hold that and stir at the same time. The heat gun is in the garage as an emergency backup if needed. Usually have about 30 lbs of green on hand at any one time
  6. Oxidation can be a very good thing for whiskey up to a point
  7. No heat sounds like an electrical problem. I would certainly contact them
  8. Real hummus is a thing of beauty. Heading to the beach to meet friends this weekend and the thought of Sabra hummus was more than I could handle. Cooked from dried using the cooking liquid to thin adds so much flavor. Lots of fresh pressed lemon juice
  9. Ramen with pork belly
  10. My wife's most requested work day breakfast. An egg roll up
  11. Kay, I'm a sucker for grits and was inspired by your dish. I made some yellow grits and we had corn off the cob in the fridge which went in as well as some green onion tops and a little cilantro. I had some wild sockeye salmon from Costco in the freezer and thought, why not.
  12. Grilled lamb chops with roasted potatoes and sautéed dates
  13. I use a rack but before I bought one I would vacuum seal heavy small objects and add that to the bag. I was given a couple of boxes of whiskey stones which I found utterly useless but then found a use for them.
  14. Thanks! Mango
  15. Tuna poke over rice this evening
  16. It's in the 90s here and I'd make that tomorrow if I had the shanks on hand. One of my favorite meals and I'm not afraid to turn the oven on in the summer. Looks delicious
  17. They didn't list the ingredients on the nutritional label for the traditional peanut butter. What else is in there besides peanuts and salt?
  18. Another attempt at a childhood favorite, hummus bil lahme. This time not over cooked. The toasted pine nuts and baharat spices make it sing
  19. What's for dinner? I don't know just yet Let's see what I have to work with.
  20. Every once in a while I have to drink something other than bourbon. The Hamilton 86 was delicious neat. Had to try the 151 neat. It could use a little water but the nose is lovely
  21. @blue_dolphin looks wonderful. I'm a sucker for egg salad. I'm a closet mayo lover. Not really, I freely admit It to mayo haters. Must be a southern thing
  22. Looks fabulous Sartoric
