  1. Thanks. Been awhile since microbiology
  2. Prolonged high heat will burn off the old seasoning. Easy Off or other lye based cleaner will as well. Just protect your eyes and skin from the lye if you use it
  3. Agree with chromedome. Start over and season properly
  4. But what are the bugs that tend to spoil meat and cause it to smell and produce gas? I suspect anaerobic bacteria which staph is one of but is it the most causative? Just curious
  5. We just did a big pantry clean out after seeing these little flyin weave looking bugs. Smaller than a black sesame seed. Got into several spices and my Wondra. Two large pantries were totally cleaned out and organized. Now I can't find anything
  6. I see them on rare occasions. But it's been a while. I agree, where are the yellow beats!!!!! edited to add my favorite are the candy strip beets. Not that they taste that much better but they have visual appeal extraordinaire
  7. May not be a recipe of Deep Run Roots but Vivian's butter bean burgers were what's for dinner tonight. I used a pinch of Spanish smoked paprika in the mix which gave the burgers a smoky quality.
  8. Had chicken tenders from breaking down a couple of chickens. Pan fried and served over salad with a lebneh and mayo based dressing, used sparingly. Exceeded expectations. Love it what that happens
  9. Lunch was a Cuban from Publix which I pressed at home with an Oakar Blues Old Chub while watching the Gators play LSU
  10. Ahhh, the weekend! Another round of pan roasted breakfast potatoes and a cheese omelet to start the day.
  11. Angel hair pasta with basil pesto, pine nuts and chicken
  12. Munching on leftover pork belly tacos
  13. SV pork belly, seared and served with corn and peppers. I was scrounging for a side. The pork belly was drizzled with a bottle Thai Larb sauce
  14. Fried eggs and breakfast potatoes this morning. A Sunday morning favorite
  15. Shain, I grew up eating keskesoon. The little pastas in a tomato based sauce with chickpeas and some times some chuck roast
  16. Funny, Cheereos was the first thing to pop in my head as well when I saw your photo Shain.
  17. Nice view
  18. Tonight I made lahamagine for dinner. Flour tortillas makes a good sub for the traditional base.

@FrogPrincesse and @chefmd both right up my ally and both look delicious
  20. So did Florida. 'Bout time, I feel a migraine coming on
  21. White bean chicken chili tonight. Broke down a chicken. Used the white meat for the chili. The leg quarters and wings will be used at a later date. The carcass made the base of the stock along with the bean liquid We really dug the chili. Onions, garlic, celery and carrots were the aromatics along with parsley and a touch of cilantro, poblanos and jalapeño for depth and heat
  22. Drinking coupious amounts of bourbon while watching the poll results
  23. I had ground about 9 pounds of a mix of chuck and rump roast yesterday into 6 oz burgers for burgers and what not. Tonight was burgers with Limburger cheese as we watch the election results while holding our nose. Just kidding on the Limburger. Home fries was the side for the burger. I'm having tremendous results with par boiling the cut potatoes and roughing them up before roasting in the oven. Something I picked up here @ eG
  24. Green peas and rice seasoned with ground coriander
