My mother cooked every day . Meals were good , but not complicated. She worked , and ran a nursery school. the books I remember , and still have , Fannie Farmer , edition circa just before WWII. and my favorite growing up : Betty Crocker , in a loose leaf binder . the loose leaf binder fascinated me , as my father was a teacher , and had lots of binders for his various lectures. I still have both of them. Betty had pictures , and a style that was a bit outline-ish.

its odd people prefer brown eggs w the price difference being what it is.
-
@Tropicalsenior brown eggs in my area are more expensive than white. they taste the same. It my understanding that the brown egs are more expensive as they come from a breed that takes longer to produce an egg. time === money why people , in this area , would pay more for those Brown's is , Sociology ?

@Tropicalsenior the doz. MB white large are 681 gms.

I shop at Market Basket , a family business in the North East same stuff as Stop&Shop , and RocheBro , but lower prices due to their business model : all eggs in MA are now cage free. I doubt that's the same as pasture-raised.

as an added note of caution Ive put all my Spice Trekkers and Hot Mama ( ? ) spice blends both *** delightful *** products from Canada . in the freezer . to think about their situation here. as a precaution .

@Smithy its plastic . Ive tossed it out. for me , this has only been chili, so , w my new fancy pants refrigerator , Ill keep the dried chili in the 36 F refrig. I have one more unopened Tj's green chili and put that in the freezer until I start to use it , the the refrig. this has not affected any other spice mixture Ive had , as far as I can recuall.

this sort of thing , for me has only been in dried chili. as leat that's what I recall .

Tj's has stopped carrying the green dried Hatch chili. I love green hot dried chili over the red. so I splurged and got this : Ive also had a bug problem , from time to time w dried chili , both red and green I mentioned it over here https://forums.egullet.org/topic/167329-bugs-growing-in-dried-chili/#comment-2441566

from time to time , w both red and green dried chili I get some sort of bug over growth . I cant see the bugs , but there is a fine lattice through out the mix : what is this ? in this case its very unfortunate as Tj's no longer carries the green dried chili. Ive gotten 8 oz of dried hatch chili , as an eventual sub. I like dried green hot chili , and they dont need to be Hatch , which is a ' named ' chili just geen hot , rather than red. when I open the 8 oz new one ; Ill keep it in the frig , orfreeze it from time to time. has this infestation visited you ?
