  1. reviewing a bit : so our Pals N of the B can't deal w the CG's so they can send them S. to Us ? these days I can understand it maybe its a bit in your genes Like Swans in GB ? only for the Monarch bet the pate might not be so good or it would have a " By Appointment ............ " sticker on it.
  2. @Anna N pleased you are back on the Crawl with the LunchLadies i.e. the LL's what is the Crumby ? a Squeezy Frustation Thing-ey ? pleased you enjoyed your Liver less for the Rest of Us ! native Turkey here , on rural roads , i.e. not so rural me do the same. they will attack your car if you are not patient no issue moving them to your Oven but I take it not so tasty/ they did not visit me and MC this year but the turks are around no CG's in my area but Id like those N. of the B. to keep it that way
  3. @MelissaH snowplow poop : Ill remember that one ! are you talking about the Ruby ' chocolate ' chips ? they are sweet then tart , w raspberry flavor. no real chocolate flavor , except for the first nano-second a bit white chocolate the sugar-sweet then raspberry tart quite tart
  4. I went to Tj's this AM : and got their SpotLight cheese : Rubius the cheese itself : note the orate hue'd rind Spotlight means its going to be gone soon. I like double /tripple creme cheese , that are very full flavored. TJ's has some nice " brie ' that oozes , and I usually get that and home-age it in a kitchen cabinet. in the winter time , my kitchen is ' cool ' 55 F during the day ? you see I have a wood-stove in another room. so in the winter , the cheese ages very slowly , and I can get very hungry spring time , summer ? much quicker aside of the fact that you want to take your time aging your cheese and it rarely comes aged these days this cheese might remind me of Port Salut , but I can't really say I might have been influenced by the orange in the rind. its aroma is Full Flavored , if you will with signs of much more flavor to come. has any one had this cheese were the developed the flavor to its Max at home ? because ,when I find it outstandingly full flavored for me its going to be gone from Tj's I do know I might be able to buy it else where , but at 2 x the price ? we all have our limits. Im pleased I have the two ' bulging Brie's ' from Tj's that they seem to carry all the time.

I went to TJ's this AM got the Poblano Ravioli , the grilled artichokes and a Rubius cheese round. the cheese is a Spotlight , so when its gone its gone Opened the cheese , and gave the rind a good whiff : Nice ! , very nice ! loosely covered for a few days in a kitchen cabinet and then a taste looking forward to it based on the first Whiff .
  6. I have not been to Schwartz's in a long time. in the video age , Ive seen the place featured on various travel/eating shows looks like the same stuff. and yes to the medium fat. I used to get the platter , sit at the counter , and then waddle off survived , well before statins became main stream. I should count my blessings that Montreal Hot Smoked Meat is not available locally far far superior to any pastrami of the NYC variety Ive ever had. even in NYC.

  10. @blue_dolphin Wow I looked at this yesterday didn't get it as it said ' Mild ' do you think it might ' age at home ? ' Seasonal ? Ill get one soon , and try to age it. the Brie I get is about $ 8 or 9 a lbs like the idea of some TJ's nuts with it. how might this stack up age'D as best I can in a Toastie ?

    Well well well .... Drink Issue solved : DI Thursday , above , for review purposes only decides to have a Whisky : so Im having a small Lagavulin , w some cold water to follow along. best way to do it Id say nice after a Full Flavored Toastie !
  14. I have a Walmart , of course on the way to TJ's it has frozen and refrigerated foods but I take it its not a Walmart Grocery store @Toliver consider taking some Pics of you WGS and post them somewhere like to peek !

    Dinner is early snow issues early , concluded. Cheese Toastie for the Cheese Corse ! w some TJ's makes a fine cheese toastie sorry I could not wait ! Im enjoying this while watching Endeavor S06 , episode 2 do not even think of watching Endeavor, unless its from the beginning ! they might go into a Pub , and drink warm beer perhaps a dram of Whisky ? I have that or a Gn and fresh squeezed lime ! I have that too ! cheers toastie Outstanding , BTW
  16. PS : Ive had and use the siun dried tomatoes inn oil they are very nice they used to have sun dried tomatoes in a pouch , dried nicer s you could dice them carefully and then used them in many ways I don't think they have them anymore Ill ask next time I go there
  17. @Smithy wow what a haul ! id go with either good quality olive oil or butter as a base . possibly augmented w just a bit of garlic ? finely chopped green onion tops for the garnish for the green you don't know what what the Rav;s taste like , so you want then t shine still near TJ's ? you might want to cook those Rav's up soon you might like to get some more TJ's as a very interesting selection of fresh-refirgerated Raviolis. I have not seen these but im going to look for them tomorrow a long w a few other items you got grilled articholke etc

Im a terrible slasher. too timid on such a puffed up dough Ive always thought the slash had to be just before the bread goes into a hot , moist over to get a ' boost ' you might not get on dough that had dried out a bit on the surface during the rise and became a bit tougher than the dough just underneath Im wondering how the ' boost ' works w a slash at the beginning of the rise .
  19. went back to Tj's , to ask about the Saint Iiltyd cheese. I have 2 - 3 Vac'd and Fz , but realized how outstanding it is on Toastie. melts very nicely , thought Id get a few more and Fz for the tomato season. its seasonal at TJ's , and the season started in late Oct here , ' 18. missed t. Ill have to settle for HomeRipenedBrie.
  20. what might this ruby bean taste like as its own ' chocolate ? ' one might note Im not a chocolate gourmand-ish I did love See's , back in the day dark chocolate Turtles. dark chocolate , perfect caramels , and toasted pecans.
  21. there are so many truly remarkable Chocolatiers here they has seen this Ruby Stuff at a few Chocolate Convientions I do wonder if the Ruby Cacao Seed might not be what it seems to be ? Ruby Cacao Beans are mentioned on the TJ's label but not in the ingredients .

  23. its OK as a ' confectionary ' but I very much doubt it came from a cacao bean that was raasberry in color. TJ's white chocolate ' chips ' are way better . mine went back.

    i have noticed at my local Weg's [ two stories ! shopping cart elevator ! ] that they have a good selection of higher end stuff. including their pastry baking and possibly their bread Ill have to go back there and take another look they are allergic to coupons and what all. but .... Ill look. thaks for pointing it out to me

    @Kim Shook WoW ! what is that gnarley chocolate deliciousness on the lower R there is a Wegman's near me I did note that their pastry area needs more consideration from me.
