Went to Tj's this Am , on the hunt for a loaf of brioche bread. I though that would give me something to do , and keep busy , as they say. unfortunately , their loaf is already sliced , and the slices look fairly thick. didn't seem like a worthwhile project because of that. rats .

@ElsieD love the idea of dehydrating various mushrooms , especially if they go on sale then grinding them , then using therm in , well , anything you wanted some mushroom flavor : soups , stews , rice dishes etc ?

has anyone tried a brioche-style bread in the P.P.? keeping in mind the butter , sugar and eggs ?

@OlyveOyl what sort of brioche bread from TJ's were you working with ? I recall a loaf ? what that it ? how do you think that TJ's BB would work in a Panini Press ? Ice always liked their MJ. and pick ladies , which were new to me.

@Shelby fine looking food . BTW : this isn't well known , but GBP's are 1,733 % carbs , besides being poisonous . just saying.
-
@JoNorvelleWalker I was going to ask if you paid for this, but thought better , as that would be a bit rude . BTW : if Amazon asks , or you might suggest , an evaluation of this : GE Profile Indoor Smoker on sale for $600 you might also suggest , as this is ' complex ' an associate , to send a second unit to ( Me ) . ask for some pellets for yourself . I have plenty ,

@Matthew.Taylor love the cake. are those bricks sugar or plastic ? -
the Cubano is a mighty fine sandwich . its the pickle that elevates it and the roast pork . but the pork is very hard to find unless you make it yourself.
-
@gfweb try the light mayo coating on the two outer surfaces . be prepared to make a second sandwich .
-
I just use a paper towel. its true , its not the easy to get between the grill ridges. so ball up a PT for that.
-

@Ann_T that fried egg looks perfect. I love an egg w crispy edges.

@C. sapidus fine tips. thank you . Ill keep that in mind. Im sure the results would be a ' cut above ' for now : just the toasted spice blend. in something . so fresh ( toasted ) flavors and aromas stand out. because they really do.
-
@paulraphael absolutely right. the boards are expensive. the two thinner ones I got were more reasonable , and much easier to move around. the thinner ones seem to come in only one ' blend ' , much easier to sort out that way ! and I think for my use , and general home use , will be very pleasant to use. Id also consider that thiner version in a larger version , as sort of a base but the widths cap-out if you sill , and other sizes are just longer. restaurant ? those , not so much. I do not plan to use a dishwasher , and have that scraper just in case

I recently purchased a number of tins from Spice Trekker : https://spicetrekkers.com/shop/spice-blends these were mentioned in a thread , and @Smithy posted the tins contents , over here : https://forums.egullet.org/topic/166082-dinner-2024/page/107/#comment-2436176 I used one in a simple curry like dish I bring these up , just in case an interested spice person missed the other threads Im very very happy w my purchase . of note , on their site they have spice kits . almost all are out of stock I called and asked : the trays they use for the kits are out of stock , not the spices. [ mods please feel free to move this into a Spice thread , which I was not able to find . thanks ]
