  1. @TdeV got it. the difference between the oven and a water bath , is the water bath has more thermal energy than Vater vapor at the same temp. you will get very tender meat , which you can then use for something where you add the seasonings later. nothing wrong w adding the seasonings for the initial cooking and you can add different seasons for each bag,
  2. @TdeV you have a container that fits your lamb shanks . you do have to Vac the shanks first thus are you planning to use the container for the water to SV ? if shanks + water + ? circualtor ?? you would be making soup and ruin your circulator . so , it something else ?

  4. Went to Tj's this Am , on the hunt for a loaf of brioche bread. I though that would give me something to do , and keep busy , as they say. unfortunately , their loaf is already sliced , and the slices look fairly thick. didn't seem like a worthwhile project because of that. rats .
  5. @ElsieD love the idea of dehydrating various mushrooms , especially if they go on sale then grinding them , then using therm in , well , anything you wanted some mushroom flavor : soups , stews , rice dishes etc ?

  9. @JoNorvelleWalker I was going to ask if you paid for this, but thought better , as that would be a bit rude . BTW : if Amazon asks , or you might suggest , an evaluation of this : GE Profile Indoor Smoker on sale for $600 you might also suggest , as this is ' complex ' an associate , to send a second unit to ( Me ) . ask for some pellets for yourself . I have plenty ,
