@TdeV got it. the difference between the oven and a water bath , is the water bath has more thermal energy than Vater vapor at the same temp. you will get very tender meat , which you can then use for something where you add the seasonings later. nothing wrong w adding the seasonings for the initial cooking and you can add different seasons for each bag,

@TdeV you have a container that fits your lamb shanks . you do have to Vac the shanks first thus are you planning to use the container for the water to SV ? if shanks + water + ? circualtor ?? you would be making soup and ruin your circulator . so , it something else ?

Went to Tj's this Am , on the hunt for a loaf of brioche bread. I though that would give me something to do , and keep busy , as they say. unfortunately , their loaf is already sliced , and the slices look fairly thick. didn't seem like a worthwhile project because of that. rats .

@ElsieD love the idea of dehydrating various mushrooms , especially if they go on sale then grinding them , then using therm in , well , anything you wanted some mushroom flavor : soups , stews , rice dishes etc ?

@OlyveOyl what sort of brioche bread from TJ's were you working with ? I recall a loaf ? what that it ? how do you think that TJ's BB would work in a Panini Press ? Ice always liked their MJ. and pick ladies , which were new to me.

@fledflew good points . one of our members has this Unit. I can not find the ref. to that a query to that member , re their use , would be very in that thread. Ill start salivating w excellent review here well , you do have to rate the meat as one end is hotter than the other.

the notes that come w the boards, suggest keep away from high temps. any idea what that means re: the rubber etc? Id like to find out about ' hot plates ' and the like I micro'd this , and its hot , certainly less than 212 f so , hot from the microwave , not hot from the stove ? appreciate it . P.S.: Ive seen 90 C as a limit on some secondary Japanese sites. thank you again .

the Cubano is a mighty fine sandwich . its the pickle that elevates it and the roast pork . but the pork is very hard to find unless you make it yourself.

@gfweb try the light mayo coating on the two outer surfaces . be prepared to make a second sandwich .

I just use a paper towel. its true , its not the easy to get between the grill ridges. so ball up a PT for that.
