  1. @Shelby Nice. consider , it you still have that cheese : a decent , crusty , bread: tomato , as a tomato , grilled ( CSO ) cheese : open layer etc.
  2. some time ago Id posted I had this , to try : Well , recently a few days ago there was a notice , at My Local Discontinued ! well , I Tab Pulled , my can, successfully . my review : neutral oil a whitefish , a bit tough with nothing else happening for me MC { Ed.: MisterCat ] was very very interested.
  3. @weinoo beet me to it. See and be Seen is what 11MP is about not the food.
  4. @weinoo how can you give a star to : ' tastes like Lemon Pledge and smells like a burning joint ' the setting ? the expense ? The Swells ( right next to you ! ) NYC inflation ?
  5. 11MP is no longer Best Stuff , Treated Best-ly , on The BestPlate NYC I did chuckle a bit , ( more than that ! ) then re-thought : Exceptional Disposable Income aside and of course it can't be put aside some mighty fine talent is temporarily lost until someone puts some Clothes on that Emperor or not.
  6. in the NYTimes ( today , being 29 Sept 2021 ) there is a review of 11MP. Pete Wells ( possibly of the Per Se review , times past ) https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/28/dining/eleven-madison-park-restaurant-review-plant-based.html?action=click&module=Well&pgtype=Homepage&section=Food no doubt behind a paywall its an entire page ++ long good reading : for review purposes : "" The man with the hammer treats everything as a nail, the saying goes. Something like that seems to be afflicting Eleven Madison Park in its new vegan incarnation "" "' Almost none of the main ingredients taste quite like themselves"" """ Some are so obviously standing in for meat or fish that you almost feel sorry for them "" "" In tonight’s performance, the role of the duck will be played by a beet, doing things no root vegetable should be asked to do "" "" They used to do a similar beet act at Agern, a New Nordic restaurant in Grand Central Terminal, roasting it inside a crust of salt and vegetable ash. That beet tasted like a beet, but more so. The one at Eleven Madison Park tastes like Lemon Pledge and smells like a burning joint. '' you get the idea P.S.: he did like a few items : "" here is a plant-based version of the restaurant’s wonderful bread, like a savory croissant rolled into a crisp golden swirl. Originally kneaded with cow butter, the laminated dough has been rejiggered with butter made from sunflower seeds, and it’s an unqualified success. So is the nonbutter that arrives with the bread, molded into the shape of a sunflower, bright yellow with a dark eye of tangy fermented sunflower seeds in the center. "" one last note , the last paragraph: "" Eleven Madison Park still buys meat, though. Until the year ends, the menu offered to customers who book a private dining room includes an optional beef dish, roasted tenderloin with fermented peppers and black lime. It’s some kind of metaphor for Manhattan, where there’s always a higher level of luxury, a secret room where the rich eat roasted tenderloin while everybody else gets an eggplant canoe.""
  7. at my local TJ's which only sells wine and beer , ( a Township prerogative - Tj's a town closer to Boston sells liquor ) there are a few gaps on there wine shelves not a lot I asked they were not aware of a glass shortage they do have delivery problems and delays
  8. it is odd. I went ( on-line ) to my local TotalWine. typed in tequila and they had a large selection . only one or two were " check nearby " Im not a T fan as such , but there were a lot of T's @ TW.

    $ 0.25 was a long time ago low 70's
  14. @curls I look at it this way : 1 ) how much do you like and enjoy coffee ? coffee, maybe w a little sugar , maybe a little milk // cream that's it . 2) have you had ' a perfect cup ' it's a cup that was so much better than any you recall having 3) ventilation / balcony etc OK ? and you've enjoyed quality roasts , local or mail order ( cautions here ) and enjoyed their differences ? than its for you you have to enjoy the roasting itself or its just another chore.

    Dinner 2021

    @weinoo what does this mean ? looks like a very nice dinner attractively priced ( for NYC )
  18. @curls I think the Popper is an outstanding roaster for a beginner . w the extra coffee ( a wise investment , at a discount ) its about $110 or so . and I didn't realize it was invented , it seems , by Tom @ SM. there are issues w home roasting ( ventilation , etc ) that you might not be able to control the previous entry system was the PopcornPopper $ 20 @ SM. the videos point out some limitations of the roast from an AirP{popper , which i had not thought about. if you are fairly serious about home roasting and haven't tried it. this system is a serious notch above anything else as a beginners system. dont forget : https://www.sweetmarias.com/stovetop-roasting-starter-kit.html and no , I don't work for SM met them a couple of times and liked them and their approach to green coffee a lot.
  19. I tried my new Popper the other day. I was going to take some pics , but I think the various vids @ sweetmaria do this machine better justice. its exactly as they say https://library.sweetmarias.com/popper-is-a-coffee-roaster-an-introduction/ watch the videos . ive been roasting for almost 20 years and I enjoy it. that's the key and I get the coffee I personally like. if you've had ' The Perfect Cup ' anywhere and remember it and would enjoy roasting ( several things required : mostly ventilation ) this is a worthwhile entry point. N.B.: it roasts 100 grams // time how much coffee is that in the cup ? 21 grams is the standard amount for a double espresso. a drip cup ? I have no idea.
  20. Im posting this here s it compliments comments above iffy off-topic : I have a new Popper coffee roster Ill post my thought after i do a few roasts elewhere I saw this at the end of the instructions : note the last comment . put a smile on my face . no WiFi nor bluetooth. firmware needs no update .
  21. ifoundthis : https://library.sweetmarias.com/popper-coffee-roaster-roast-demo-videos/ very Hot and Cool ! mine id nok here justyet.
  22. @KennethT excellent points. I mis-spoke. CSO firmware works fine right out of the box. Anova SO ; not so much it seems and updates seem problematic. I prefer ' get it right , or so close to right the first time it doesn't matter "" he company can go the typical software route which is to release the first version before it's actually truly finished '' not for me like WinDozze
  23. Id light a candle for them but that's a true waste of CarbonCredits.
  24. im not sure why ovens need firmware. just because firmware exists these days doesn't mean its necessary for everything. CSO woks fine w/o it. remember the camera in the oven ? soy could watch your ' roast 'on an iPhone? I was vey interested in the Anova oven. firmware efforts should have been used for hardware first. Ludite i am these days.
  25. Indeed . Well Lived , and Polite to boot !
