Home grown chives are the best for dumplings... cut them young, when they have a much more delicate flavor.

If you are going to Malibu I recommend Geoffrey's. The food is okay but the view is lovely.

I was talking about this with Beachfan last night about a dumpling lunch at Din Tai Fung in Arcadia. Maybe in Aug 2nd or 3rd. Let me know if you would be interested. They don't take reservations at this place so we would have to arrive early (before 11am) and wait in line.

I love mustard.

I like the rice balls. They are shaped long. It's like a onigiri except made with glutinous rice. Stuffed with the chinese donut and pork sung. Very filling.

I like lychee ice cream. I don't know how to make it. But I buy it at this ice cream store in Alhambra, CA. There was also a lychee sale at 99 ranch market on Saturday and i bought 4 pounds for $1.99 a pound. I ate too much and now I regret it.

I want one of those italian ice cream makers. But they are sooo expensive.
