    Dinner 2016 (Part 8)

Ronnie smoked a turkey breast (domestic) for a bit and then I SV'd it for 3 hours at 143F. Oh it was so juicy.

That stroganoff looks so good, Anna. I've been craving that for a while but every time I think I want to make it, I'm out of mushrooms...or sour cream...or both ( I like the version with sour cream in it).

    Dinner 2016 (Part 8)

Teal season opened yesterday. A big group of guys went. I think they got around 40 of them....Ronnie brought home 3. If these would have been mallards or anything other than teal, I bet we'd have a lot more lol. Everyone loves teal. Very mild...like a rich steak. I SV'd these at 125F for about an hour and then seared.

I did a beer batter. Equal parts of flour and cornstarch with a light beer poured in ( I usually do 1/2 a cup of flour and cornstarch and use most of the can of beer. Too much beer and it's too runny, though. You want to be able to leave a "trail" in the batter if that makes sense.) They are all catfish.
  7. Not that you are asking for more ideas, but I used green tomatoes to make apple pie filling...sub the 'maters for apples and cook it down. Needs a lot of spices and sugar but ultimately tastes like the real deal.

Thank you! I can't believe the okra plants...they are over 5' tall. Soon I will have to stand on tip-toes to pick.

    Dinner 2016 (Part 8)

Everyone's meals are so enticing. I am so hungry right now! Look! A couple of tomatoes from my garden! Along with steak I was exhausted last night so I thawed out more venison chili and had it over zoodles. I must have been more hungry because I liked them this time lol.
  16. Glad you joined us! I'm stumped as to why this is happening. You're using the same size eggs each time, I assume. Hopefully someone else will chime in here with some ideas.
  17. I am a little obsessive about keeping the CSO clean. I love love love the steam clean function. I always wipe it down using paper towels when it's done steaming. They usually have a bit of grease/residue on them--especially when wiping down the top and the top of the sides.

I hate cleaning the rotiss, but it does make damn good chicken.
  19. Yay a fellow eggplant fan!!!! I LOVED it, too. Custardy is exactly the right word.
  20. Awesome pictures. I can hardly stand looking at the seafood...makes me salivate.
