Just think if you knew me in person.

Behold my new fridge It's the newest thing. Minimalistic, rustic, saves energy (although not the human kind). I need to make an Instagram account. I'm sure I'll go viral. Boho chic living in the country. Look how just this throw makes it even chicer.

BUT FIRST YOU MUST PEEL THE TOMATOES

It makes me sad because it means you guys were a hell of a lot smarter than I was with the under the plate method

My dreaded foods were roast and steak. I once hid all of my bites of steak under the rim of my plate. What a dumb thing to do--what did I think was going to happen when the table was cleared.🤣

I pan roasted a couple of chicken breasts a few days ago so I'd have something to make a few meals out of. One was chicken sandwiches The next night was chicken enchiladas and our first pick of garden corn. SO good. Ronnie said he's never seen anyone eat an ear of corn as fast as I did🙃. I probably shouldn't have shared that. Peach and cherry galette for dessert As of yesterday we are back to Ronnie having mouth problems again so I have to get creative with softer type meals. Breakfast is an easy one. I am biscuit making challenged as you all know and I didn't have any frozen ones. I remembered a recipe I wanted to try--maybe everyone here has already heard of it but it's new to me. It's one of those that you think "this might be an epic failure or the greatest thing ever" lol. Butter Swim Biscuits OMG so easy. They aren't exactly like regular biscuits but they are good and close enough for me! So breakfast with biscuits and gravy it was.

I don't even know what a frappe is. I am feeling lucky that I don't lol.

Are they though? Friends, I mean? 😜🤣

I've never been to or had one.

You're still nicer than I would be! What kind of sausage is that? Looks good!

It's hot and humid as it is everywhere it seems like. But, it's July in Kansas. As usual, I'm trying to use up tons of squash--two plants up and died in the last few days.....I'm thinking Ronnie poisoned them (kidding) so we won't be getting as many as we were. Anyway, dinner: I made these several years ago and then forgot about them. You put jalapeño poppers inside of your burger then grill. I bought TGI Friday's brand and cooked them from frozen for 7 mins at 400F to give them a head start. Then I formed venison burger patties around them and Ronnie grilled. Fun and good. When our garden jalapeños get bigger I'm going to make my own. Also did some grilled squash. I always forget how good that is. Roasted chicken with the first beans from the garden and our potatoes too. Last night was the rest of the lasagna with squash rollups and salad

Could you share the recipe please . I see carrots and tomatoes.

We need a shock face emoji. OMG! I'm so sorry! Domestic turkeys?

I think we need to change our wording around here regarding enabling to influencer 🙃

That much cheese would do it.

They were talking about this on the news the other day. Looks utterly disgusting.

I didn't. I love it, Ronnie does not.

At first glance I thought the soybeans were corn. I was frantically googling flights so I could get you the help you needed. First BLT's of the summer. I should have made bread but I didn't get to it. Next time. Another first of the season--our okra. I grew a different variety and I like it. Pods seem more tender. Fried crappie to go with. Ronnie is having some dental issues so I've been trying to make softish foods. Stuffed mushrooms and peppers with cajun chicken penne Last night was lasagna and squash carpaccio

It's me again. Don't know what happened since 2020--I definitely had squash in 2021 and 2022. AND I definitely have it now. We planted 3-4 Butterstick plants and 3-4 zucchini. Yes, it's a lot but some years several plants die due to the dreaded squash bug. Hasn't happened yet so we are drowning in them lol. Everyone else around here must be too because we can't give them away. So, I've started picking them when they are tiny tiny and that is helping. It's been really hot and humid but if and when we get a break I'm going to make some breads out of some of the bigger ones. We have AC but I don't want to heat the kitchen up. As always I'm on the search for new ideas. I had forgotten about the squash carpaccio so that's going on the menu when my pine nuts get here.

Beautiful packaging.

SO INTERESTING!!!! I didn't know nutmeg is a fruit, either. Is the flesh any good to eat? You are a real trooper to have been that sick and still carry on!

Love your blogs! I'm so sorry you got sick AGAIN. And you're so very careful. Every single thing you've shown has me wishing for it right now. I just came in from the garden so that lime juice looks especially refreshing.

It's been such a hectic time. Ronnie went out of town fishing for a few days. I had some serious chores that I've been putting off for literally years so while he was gone I worked my ass off. I wasn't very hungry so I didn't cook much. Steak quesadillas the night before he left Thursday night I didn't eat anything.....wine was my meal lol. Friday I was a bit hungry. Had grand plans to make linguini with clam sauce ( canned clams ). It's an easy dish but by 8 pm I had petered out and didn't have the energy. So, I opened a jar of store bought pesto and made a little caprese salad. Basil and tomatoes from the garden. For lunch on Saturday I decided to try some ramen noodles I bought from Misfits called Spicy AF. O M G they were so hot. They definitely live up to their name. I couldn't finish them and ended up drinking about a half a gallon of milk. Yesterday Ronnie got home and wanted venison meatloaf. So that, with squash, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and tomatoes Also made some assorted squash pickles from Vivian Howard. Good stuff.

Looks delicious! So good to see you again!

Great looking pizzas. I love the eggplant one especially. I remember when I watched that movie for the first time. On VHS tape. Still one of my favorites.
