Spectacular peonies! @Pierogi loved them so. So the straw around tomatoes is a mulch/top dressing to hold in moisture?
-
A possible niche use since Ipecac has fallen out of favor
-
@liamsaunt you planted an idea with the ground mushrooms. Will have to try it.

Now you have me craving a now gone Thai place that got that perfct "caramelizatiob" on their pad see ew

Yes you are the proper custodian! Reminds me of Housekeeping In Old Virginia. I got re-print in a cookbook club when I was 13 and my son loved reading it as a kid.

Wow @Shelby that is a lot of work you've done. "by Ronnie" you mean he was the seed starter? Impressive

Oh you have not lived until it is pre AIDS facts and you look at your hands that look like a related skin lesion - later to realize you are suffering from sun + lime - juiced bunch of limes off my tree for a salsa... quite scary https://www.verywellfamily.com/sun-and-citrus-fruits-arent-a-good-match-616635#:~:text=Citrus fruits and celery can, into contact with the skin.

Gilding the lily a bit? When I was young and cute the Italian brothers at the deli always gave me center cut from the big wheel of psarm. My standard was just cheese, butter, and cream though they did sell me fresh spinach fettuchine (with the occasuonal bit of grit) for a change of pace. It was GOOD.

When baseball season starts my local stores often get new batches of MLB themed in shell peanuts that are fresh and well roasted and featured price wise. I mentioned that above as well as Hubs which I have in my on=line order wish cart. When I could get there the raw bulk bin peanuts at Korean market that I roast myself are wonderful and my local farmers market guys used to do levels of in shell roast. I'd wait for well done. I find a perfctly fairly dark roasted peanut doe not even need salt - and I am not salt averse.

Eew cuz that has got fat in it - more of a pain to clean up. At least when the ex put his can of Pepsi in the freezer and forgot about it there was a mess but it was diet so not sticky sugar to clean. He did it more than once. The exploding beer bottle (well n/a Sharps) in the camper shell was not amusing either. Dog tried to come through the window into the cab in a panic. Jostling from a rough road made the cap just loosen enough to make a loud squealing noise and spray everywhere.

Extreme winds yesterday - precautionary outage maybe for @blue_dolphin Fire hazard alert is high.

Youmien - oat noodles from Northern China came up on another site. With the overtrend of gluten free around Los Angeles I am surprised not to have heard of them, They sound texturally in my box and I think I would enjoy them, Anyone?

We all need a mental re-set at times. Enjoy!

Not what you want to hear - but a m&p in Colombia can't be expensive You will find uses. Hey - new adventures. Also the downward pressure exeerted on ingredients in M&P - just yields a more interesting result - my humble opinion. I often use a small marble one for black peppercorns when I want various grinds, $2 at flea market in Los Angeles

SCE is lovely in my experience. Are those the mini toasts from Trader Joes? It has been years. Your pate!

reminds me of Sunday when a friend said her husband handed the Mothers Day tongs onto the son for their traditional brats. I reminded her that the son Joe once BBQd a basketball on my Weber. Talk about stinky.

I am also a fan of the overhang. Last house we did it about 2-1/2 ft. - about most and still be structually sound. 3 stools comfortably. With all the kids in my house it was the preferred hang out spot v. small kitchen table.

Very interesting. It is such a difficult business requiring passion in hard times Thanks

@RWood Any chance of the cake's inside view? Nice brunch selections. My mom used to do the sweet Dutch Baby (powdered sugar + lemon juice) with bacon alongside. Your savory one really appeals to me.

I don't like the word amazing as I think it is over used - but this was truly amazing, So any reports back on your culinary celebratory food?

Lovng the corn elements, the sides, and I'd enjoy that pineapple as a point of difference to taste strong, salty goodness.

Ha! I remember that discussion and also started to use masher if more than a single or so serving. I had a college classmate from Texas who swore by a pinch of Colmanls mustard powder to zing it up. On bad health days, no appetite - egg salad keeps me going.

I'd have thought it would be considered good for male "strength"
