I absolutely do not need any of those cute jars, so I absolutely do not need to know where you (or Kerry, I think?) got them. IIRC they were a thrift store find. Whew - saved from making a shopping list for gizmos!
Sorry if you wrote this before - but do you have a link to that ginger-carrot dressing? It looks gorgeous!
@Smithy Here’s the US equivalent . Not quite as curvy and sexy.

Actually it will be going to @Alleguede's shop to process soups, pate's etc - I knew I could find a home for it.
@Anna N helps kittens/cats on their journey through life, you help unloved kitchenware/small appliances.

Is the insert sitting directly on the bottom of the cooking pot?

Low pressure?
As @Anna N said, steam, then for mine, 30 seconds in ice water before peeling.

@Anna N Thank you, the two minute IP Mini egg is perfect for me. Fully set white, lovely cooked but liquid yolk. Mmmm...

Another ditto.
Not yet, and I’ve done some questionable thing as far as liquid levels go.

Google Home mini here. Love, love, love, the multiple hands free timers! Would buy again, even if that was all it did. Still exploring the capabilities though.

I had a pleasant surprise for last night's dinner. Back before we left home, I had cooked too much rice for some dinner dish. I put the leftover rice (jasmine) into a Food Saver bag and vacuum-packed it. As I watched the rice being crushed together in that vacuum I wondered whether it would be any good later, but went ahead and froze it. If nothing else, I could use it as a starchy thickener.
Yesterday was the moment of truth. Out from the freezer came these four packages.
(Ignore the lemon juice, that's for today.) I chopped up a red bell pepper and some mushrooms, sweated them until soft, added the sausage, cooked until it was mostly done. When I opened that package and started pouring the cooked rice in, it fluffed out as though I had just cooked it!
The broth tied everything together. We had had some discussion about whether to chop the sausage or leave it whole, so I did some of both. We liked each version, but I think the cut bits browned better. Dinner, before going into the bowls (because those pictures are rubbish):
I'm very pleased to learn this trick for the rice. Too bad I didn't pack the Food Saver.
The first time I tried it, it was with the same “This is probably a really bad idea” thoughts. It’s now my go to way for rice. I cook a bunch and food saver it in 2 cup portions, takes up almost no space in the freezer, and after a few minutes in the microwave hot, fluffy rice!
I cook, cool to room temp then bag it.

In a case of "what's old is new again!"
Look what I got. Sent to me to "test" and write a review - a newly introduced Zyliss "Quick Whisk" which is a new style of eggbeater.
Unlike those of yesteryear, this one has beaters that are removable for cleaning and has a "bail guard" so the beaters do not strike the sides and bottoms of bowls or other vessels.
And it works right or left handed which was a complaint of many women with some of the eggbeaters with handles that were for righties only.I have several "vintage" eggbeaters and this is superior to all of them in the way it is constructed and the way it works.
Not only do the beaters themselves rotate, they rotate around a common shaft in a "planetary" motion.
Great backup for “no power days”. Thanks!

I was browsing at a street fair in New York today and came across this Cake Decorator set. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it. I also knew I wouldn't pay the asking price, which was 30 bucks. (Ridiculous.) I was trying to decide just how much I wanted the thing. Would I pay $20? Maybe. I really wanted it. Then the vendor came up to me and said, "It's yours for $10." Sold. I couldn't resist.

While I do know the difference between an arthropod and an orthopod, my mind still takes me to a scenario where you're being injected by something more akin to a wasp or bee, especially with the butter tarts involved.

Well the Ted Allen book is only $1.99 Canadian so it's hard to resist. Never heard of the guy but what the heck. And I'm not even a prime member.

Made this, came out great. Color me impressed! We both enjoyed the flavors, portions were generous, directions were clear and simply presented. So far I'm happy.

I just received and unpacked my HelloFresh order. Very nicely packed. Produce cool, meat cold and only one casualty after riding around for 6+ hours in a UPS truck on a 100f day. The casualty was a little bunch of fresh basil, it was at the bottom of one of the produce boxes, unfortunately that put it on top of the ice pack. So, it was actually freeze damage, not what I was expecting.
Dinners for Tonight , Wednesday and Thursday taken care of.
I'll report back later this evening.

So I had a similarly disconcerting experience with HelloFresh today. I had pulled the trigger and signed up for my first delivery next Friday paying by PayPal which I thought was a great idea. This morning I got a call saying that they could not deliver it next Friday because of the holiday on Monday? But they could deliver it on Wednesday. I explained that I would not be home Wednesday so they agreed to deliver it the following Friday on June 2. No sooner had I hung up from this conversation then I received notification from PayPal that the full cost of the meal had been refunded. I do not believe for one minute believe this was a gesture of benevolence but rather a screwup on their part and that June 2 will arrive and there will be no food! It's not as though the Victoria Day holiday is a new experience in Canada. It has been in existence for Lord only knows how long! This would've been my first order with them so you would think they might have bent over backwards to deliver my food on the date I had asked for. We'll see what transpires on June 2.
Will have Plan B in place for the 22nd. @patris, who delivered yours FedEx or UPS? We're in the California desert. If it's delivered FedEx it should be fine, if it rides around in a big brown truck all day it's not going to be pretty.
