  1. Finally: * String cheese.* ← this first one sounds like any Tarzan movie from my childhood cheese platter on a train is "French Kiss"............muucuuuussssssssssssssss! I don't know the next one and finally is this from "Babette's Feast" ???
  2. DINGDINGDINGDINGDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The powers that be can finally take down clue #5 it has been solved Let's all give ALEX a hearty round of applause and a slap on the back for solving the seemingly unsolvable. Yes it is "Miss Firecracker".One of my favorite Holly Hunter movies.I was begining to think that I was the only one who saw it. my guess for #32 is "Fried Green Tomatoes" (written by Fannie Flagg as Fried Green Tomatoes At the Whistle Stop Cafe".)
  3. My apologies, one of the 3 supporting roles was a nomination and not an actual award. Hope the clue didnt throw you off. Mea culpa
  4. Truth about CAts & Dogs? ← Yea!!! I had seen this movie before, but couldn't remember the exact quote. But as luck would have it, it was on HBO this morning when I got home from work. I got it straight from the horses mouth.
  5. #5, besides the afore mentioned clues, there are 4 primary characters, 1 female lead, 2 female supporting, and 1 male supporting. The movie was released in 1989 and all 4 actors have won Academy Awards for other works.(one best actress and the other 3 for best supporting) New item ; " Salt, pepper, granulted garlic....mayonnaise,...of course," " Of course, now for the important question,'Do you have a position on pickles?' " "Oh it's more of a deeply held belief actually" "Oh really, a pickle conviction , um.... go ahead" "When it comes to tuna fish, I am emphatically anti-pickle"
  6. Is it ; "As Good As It Gets" ? ← Maybe if it was "hard shell" crab dinners with a pitcher of beer. ← You'd think that as many times as he goes on and on to her about the crabs, I'd have gotten it right
  7. That would absolutely drive me nuts, I like to have out what I'm working with and not everthing in the kitchen.
  8. #9 sounds like "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane," but I am probably wrong, Because I remember there being the invalid sister's pet bird on the tray.
  9. Peggy Sue Got Married The main character (Peggy Sue) tells her sister who's eating from a bowl of M&Ms not to eat the red ones. The sister asks why, and I wish I could remember the reply! ← Even though it has not been confirmed, I say you are right. Because Peggy is from the Future, and has gone back to when she was a teenager, she ( her future she) is already aware of such food additives and colorings as FD&C #40 red and its carcinogenic probabilities( I can remember when there was a big deal about it and they had to stop adding it to foods)and therefore tells her sister not to eat them!
  10. brilliant Varmint...I love that movie; my favourite line is 'the dummy's right' when the ventriloqist's dummy warns of the raid.....hahahahahaha ← Belushi with pantyhose and oranges; "I'm a bug!"
  11. Walnut, arugula, and gorgonzola crostini Caraway cornbread with apricots, bacon and jalapeno jam Beef tenderloin chiffonade and little foccacia rounds Sweet potato biscuits with pork tenderloin and apple chutney and some fat free brownies A foodie definately writes for this show. Was anyone else hungry after that scene. one other thing, How do you chiffonade a beef tenderloin.I've had meat pulled, shredded and julienned, but never a "chiffonade"
  12. Is it Practical Magic caroled????? rings a bell (faint ) ← yes it is. .(along with a pitcher or warm, poisoned maple syrup, if memory serves)
  13. Midnight margaritas and saguaro shaped pancakes
  14. Beverly Hills Cop.................. " I make eet mahsellff" Love that scene, our first intro to Bronson Pincho
  15. Yea!!!!!!!!!!!! I-call-the-duck you are right! It is Jaws I love the scene when Chief Brody and his wife are having dinner and young Marine biologist Matt Hopper comes in with the bad news, Brody stops eating and Hooper takes his dinner. Varmit, you are also correct. It is Little Women. 1933 version stars Katherine Hepburn as Jo,( Oscar winner for On Golden Pond among others) 1949 , The young and beautiful Elizabeth Taylor( winner for Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe) 1994, Susan Sarandon( oscar for Dead Man Walking)( and Winona Ryder, nominee for Girl Interupted) Congratulations to you both, we have some lovely parting gifts for you
  16. #8: one movie remade 3 times, starting with 1933 version. Have the odd couple really been around that long? not the answer I was looking for. #11 put a different beat to the music. I love your answer but I don't know that it would tie in with my original clue. Once again , sorry. Not a comedy. serious.scary.
  17. Author of #7 also wrote another script/movie mentioned near the begining of the thread. #8, much older novel that has been released as movies in 1933, 1949 and a more recent version in1994. ( also a tv version) Of the motion picture releases, each one contained at least one character who was portrayed be an Academy Award nominee( not neccessarily for that picture, butat least once in their career) #11 dah du, dah du, dahdudahdudahdu( with cellos) throughout the film many other things were eaten, but that would be giving it away
  18. Clue for #3 sounds like David Lynch, But for the life of me I couldn't even begin to guess which movie it would be. For the most part, they were all pretty weird
  19. I've just finished reading your blog ,start to finish, and am enjoying it immensely. WOW! you are one lucky girl to snag the hottest invitation in town and one that the rest of us can only dream about.I'm guessing the phrase "eatin' high on the hog" probably won't even begin to describe the tantalizing sensations you got to partake of last night. Hopefully, by the time I get up tonight, or the very latest, off work in the morning, we can get a glimpse of some serious porn We want porn, we want porn
  20. Because I get off at app. 6:00 to 6:30 am, I usually do my shopping on the way home, so as not to make a second trip back out after a busy night. Much akin to the rest of you going in the afternoon, evening after work. Usually on my lunch break, I will look through our ads, I do work in a retail grocery establishment, and time my purchases thru the week to get my sale items/ what is the freshest. I also get a lot of my bulk items at Wal-Mart, as they are so much less expensive than where I work, but I plan that as a separate trip for another day. After standing on my feet (how else would I do it ) for 8-9 hours, I just can't handle two shopping excursions in one stretch. I am also fortunate in that one of my co-workers has a large farm and sells every season at the local farmer's markets( 4 of them)so I have a source for really fresh produce when in season. She comes to work at night and tells me what they will pick that day in preparation for market the next morning and I give her a list and she will bring it to me in the evening before our shifts start. So yes, I do shop with a list and sometime without, if I don't and I am hungry, I end up with more than I need, being hungry makes me think of all the delicious things I could go home and make(mapo dofu for breakfast ,anyone?? ) If I have had a chance to eat and am not hungry, then nothing really looks appealing and I have wasted shopping time and end up with next to nothing in my basket and have to shop again during the week so that I will have what I need.
  21. #7 is not Fallen or Big Fish, sorry If it helps any, it was written by a Southern writer Another new one for the pot: Two people at eating dinner when a third one arrives and saysIs anyone eating this?and takes the man's plate.
