  1. I keep mine in the freezer all together in the original wrapper in a large plastic container. Some rices went rancid faster than others when I kept them in the pantry, so now they all go in the freezer.
  2. I change the channel when the Neely's appear, can't stand the show. If this is the direction Food Network is going, they will lose viewers left and right.
  3. Ilana, I was thrilled to get history and gastronomy lessons all in one! I want to thank you for every minute of your wonderful week sharing your life with me.
  4. FFB, thanks for the enjoyable week we have spent peeking into your busy life!
  5. Can't for this blog to really get going.........your puppy is so cute and looks like a Pierre or an Arnold! And a big Happy Birthday to Mr. FB...
  6. The beach sunset scene just blows me away.....thanks for sharing. I figured out that it is Russian. I used the google translation and this is what I found....Carl Warner is the artist. http://yumsugar.com/928943
  7. Diana, thanks for your wonderful winter in New England blog. I really enjoyed the winter scenes, brings back so many good memories. Sorry you didn't get to go to KA! I loved the photos of Oliver! Hope to see you doing a summer blog.....
  8. Thank you Randi, Sandy and Ellen for a peek into a week of your interesting lives.
  9. This is going to be an interesting blog this week. Maybe I will glean enough information on how to clean my pantry out....instead of constantly adding to it. What type of items do you normally purchase at King Arthur? When I go home to visit my family, we usually make a quick trip, less than 30 miles, so I can stock up and not have shipping charges. I love that place!
  10. I sincerely loved every minute of your blog! Thank you, thank you, for a most interesting and informative week in your busy life!
  11. This is going to be great! I love the southwest, having lived there for almost 25 years.....can't beat the food or the scenery!

A good old fashioned custard pie...baked custard....deviled eggs.
  13. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the most amazing week! I am wondering if there will ever be anything close to topping this blog......
  14. Lucy, thanks for taking the time to dazzle us with the amazing blog during such a busy time of year; it was most enjoyable. I loved all the photos of your adorable pets, wine, Thanksgiving meal, amazing farmers market and grocery. I wish there was something even close to that in my area. Thank you, again for sharing!
  15. I have a Magic Mill, over 20 years and use it when making more than 2 loaves of bread, which is often. It is a workhorse, if ever there was one! If only doing 2 loaves I use the KA stand mixer.

    Dinner! 2007

I tried Jen's vanilla chicken..........such an unlikely combination, vanilla and garlic, but it was wonderful. Thanks Jen, it is a keeper!
  17. I use equal parts flour and vegetable oil (which is kept in the refrigerator, so that it doesn't have to be mixed each time I need it) and then brush it onto my Nordicware Bundt pan and have never had anything stick to it.
  18. Here is a site with a few Panamanian dessert recipes. Panamanian Cuisine
