  3. Keller had it right turning his dessert into animal shapes. The girls loved it before they even tasted it. I also thought the show was great. And pasta in the bathroom? Ewww. I felt bad when Love froze his food-especially the produce. He recovered better than I thought he would.

    Farro

    Thanks for this topic. I discovered farro a couple of years ago and can't get enough. I have a farro salad, a farro mushroom soup and a Tuscan farro soup on my blog that are all very good. I do vary the salad ingredients according to season and finish with a vinaigrette of some sort. I buy the perlato which doesn't need pre-soaking
  7. Interesting. Does it add flavor to whatever you're cooking on it? Besides salt?
  8. I used some in spring rolls yeterday and that was really good. I love the stuff. It's worth ordering if you can't find it retail. Goat meat-I made a Jamaican Goat Curry once. There's also birria.
  9. I actually made THIS and it was phenomenal! I used a little in sauteed baby bok choy too. I ordered mine from Sauce N Spice. I was impressed with the service. i ordered on a Thursday morning and chose the cheapest option and had my black garlic on Saturday morning.
  10. There's a whole lot of airbrushing going on there! Anyway, I've nevr been to Carls (as Hardees is called out here) but she makes that burger look good. I doubt my experience would be the same though.
  11. I ordered some of this after hearing it mentioned on Top Chef a few moths ago. So far I've just peeled off a clove to taste it. It's sweet-almost "balsamic" with garlic undertones. The texture is that of roasted garlic. Has anyone ever cooked with it?

  13. A lot of them judged or were on Iron Chef. Some were judges on Top Chef too. Aside from Iron Chef and Chopped there really isn't anything for them on Food Network. I'm excited!
  14. OK I thought I could watch but that was disturbing. I watched the first plating but scaling and scoring the live fish...couldn't do it. Knife skills are great but that was cruel imo.
  15. I see what you're saying Chris. Maybe they figured his fling with Leah and feud with Stefan made better TV.

  17. I was talking about the finale's editing. He drew the number one knife and found the baby in the cake.... I wondered early on if it was going to be him. Jeff looked mad at the end. Or else the camera caught him at an unfortunate time.
  18. I had a feeling the editing monkeys were messing with us with all Hosea's luck. I'm glad he beat Stefan who was on my last nerve. Especially when he answered the question about deserving to be there because he deserved to be there. Carla will be successful. She just needs to learn to say no. I knew she was screwed when she said yes to the sous vide. Stefan's dessert-WTF was that mess??? I think Hosea should have done a dessert. He had time to practice before he went to NOLA. Reunion show next week!

  21. According to Toms blog Jeff was never in the running as his oysters tasted like Sterno. He said the judges all commented on it but apparently the editors wanted us to think he had a chance.
  22. I hated Tom's comment about how Carla should have steamed the oysters open. Wouldn't that risk overcooked oysters? I don't think Tom likes Carla anyway. Seems he favors Stefan although he looked disappointed in him last night. Also the challenge was to cook Creole food but the word, "Cajun" was thrown around last night. I thought they were different cuisines. Or are they interchangable?
  23. Yea Gail is back!!! Hopefully for good! I was so ready to see Stefan go for all his arrogance. I know he's talented but he totally phoned that challenge in! Man I just wish Fabios food had been better. Carla!!! Hootie Hoo!!!! I was so happy for her!!! She must win!!!!
