  1. I think they used San Francisco and Napa Valley the best in Season one. the others have been about the same as this season.
  2. but she's all about the 3 C's and deconstructing degustation-community outreach! I loved the way the judges looked at her like WTF! Giada went to Top Chef and stole Lisa's b*tch face. Yeah raw pork, raw meatloaf and some sorry looking sides make it clear it's not about the food.
  3. Oh, SNNNNNNAP! I can't believe a weasel like Spike wouldn't have thought that a greater weasel - like the producer - wouldn't have larded the larder, so to speak, with bad ingredient choices (!) At least Spike finally got bitten in the butt for all his McStrategizing. ← That's so awesome Spike got owned!!
  4. I've never had sweetbreads-are they really like McNuggets as Stehanie said?
  5. GO STEPHANIE!!!!!!! I was excited for Richard and Antonia too! Bye bye Spike!!! Although I truly wish it had been Lisa who got the axe Man those grey pants Padma was wearing in the Quickfire made her look lumpy! Usually it's pretty obvious who's going home but this one had me in suspense till the end. I can imagine sweet potatoes and peanut butter working but not russet potatoes. The judges seemed to like it though. Seeing Ilan pissed me off all over again. Thank God Antonia didn't send Gayle on another egg rant.
  6. Butterscotch scallops I'm glad Stephanie won again. I'd be happy with either her or Richard winning. I wish Tony would blog.
  7. I saw on the preview that Bourdain is back next week.
  8. Someone on another board pointed out that the last person interviewed in the opening monologue goes home. I've been paying attention and it's true!!! But oh man I so wanted it to be Lisa who complained the other chefs had bad attititudes When Lisa picked the shrimp I thought about cholesterol. I don't think she was sabotaged. All the other chefs were too busy with their own stuff. And who the heck undercooks shrimp? Most people overcook. Dale won a big ass bottle of mediocre wine Spike-olive and grapes? EWWWW!!! And he totally shopped to screw the others over.
  9. I was still thinking about that too. Pasta, canned tomatoes (for a homemade sauce) and some ground beef for meatballs? Baked apples for dessert. Not very creative nd it wouldn't win the challenge but it might come under $10 if you buy the store brand.
  10. I know they said they weren't going to do it but according to the episode guide on imdb episode 11 is called Restaurant Wars. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0765425/episodes#season-4
  11. Lucky duck!!!! There will be no reruns for you! I liked the episode! I got tired watching them work through the night. I love the relay challenge!!! When Andrew said he wanted to do Chicken Nuggets I yelled, "noooooooo!" Crispy food bad for banquet!!! Antonia agreed with me! Dales bruschetta did not look good. I was really disappointed with his attitude throughout the challenge. Dang what a douche! I honestly wanted him to go home regardless of past challenge wins. When things don't go his way everybody suffers. That was awesome of Richard to give Stephanie his win. He's such a great sport! good Karma heading Richard's way! Lisa had her bitch face on and with the bandanna she looked harsh!! Lucky for her she made a good cake. Nicky was horrible and as an Italian chef she should have owned that challenge. She only had one hit that I recall-at the kids challenge so it was time for her to go. Looks like someone pulls a "Tiffani" on Lisa next week.
  12. I rescind my peanut butter/tomato comment as I remember making an excellent West African Peanut Soup that was tomato based.
  13. Uncle Bens? UNCLE BENS??? Rice is not hard to cook! I think they gave them 15 minutes just so they could use the convenience food. Editing monkeys made me think Mark was going home. Editing monkeys were right. Peanut butter and tomatoes??? I tried to imagine that and it wasn't working.
  14. Great episode until they chose the wrong person to go home. Jen and Stepanie followed the rules of the game and while their dish wasn't great, they still managed to fulfill their key words - asparagus, turn on, orange. All three were accomplished and with some funny, tongue in cheek humor. Antonia and Lisa's words were Polish sausage, drunken, and magenta. Did they accomplish any of those words let alone all three like Jen and Stephanie? They choose Chilean sea bass as the main ingredient and a Mexican sausage as their Polish sausage which looked more like a garnish. I really don't know where drunken or magenta came in to play. So much for a mad Andrew this week. Darn pre-editing monkeys. I'm glad he made a good soup. Nikki survives another week and Lisa needs an attitude adjustment. Guest judge was kinda hot
  15. did anyone choose to cook kwith Michelob? I noticed it got it's own screenshot
  16. Yes and no. Until they get to the episode where they have the two faux restaurants it's a good way to assess that they can feed people in volume. According to the IMDB episode guide we have four more episodes until Restaurant Wars. The previews for the improv episode look odd.
  17. She looked dirty too. She's most in need of a faux-hawk. Gail has moved on from burnt.rubbery.eggs to rosemary rants. I saw on the Bravo site they're casting for next season...
  18. Dating myself here... OK my family is total Bears fans and seeing all those guys so made me wanna bust out into The Super Bowl Shuffle!! I was hoping Nicky would go home. It's her time and she didn't save enough for the judges? I seriously would have set aside 4 servings of peppers and onions. I really thought Mark would go because double dipping in front of the judges? Ewww!
  19. Saturday Night Live Top Chef parody HERE
  20. I really have to watch last nights episode again because I could have sworn Antonia was opposed to the soup. Richard acting surprised at the judges table when he knew there were scales and the fish was mushy cracked me up. He's not a good actor. I also thought it was funny that Lisa won for bacon. Bacon rules!! And the fights at the end? I thought it seemed odd they happened at the same time. Or maybe it was Bravo's editing. Anyway it was choppy and weird. And why was Dale holding his crotch while he was yelling at Lisa?
  21. Thank you. That made my day. ← Nancy's commentary always cracks me up
  22. Blazing Saddles Beans anyone?
  23. I watched this show after Top Chef. A world of difference. I've only seen 2 seasons of HK and both times they had risotto on then menu and both times the cooks screwed it up. I guess if I were going to audition for that show I'd perfect my risotto.
  24. I think that was Goodfellas ← D'oh! You're right! I just watched again and had to freeze the frame of Zoi's face when Richard said he won. She had daggers coming out her eyes!
  25. So true... How could you not know ... "the Godfather" ← They coulda sliced their garlic with a razor blade I did the same thing you did Shengcai. Then I realized a Forrest Gump chocolate and shrimp dish might be too obvious.
