  1. I just started up my own "cook the book" blog after reading French Laundry At Home for the past few months. I'm going to try to cook all of the recipes from Fergus Henderson's "The Whole Beast: Nose to Tail Eating". http://www.nosetotailathome.com I've already got a vendor for lamb's brain! EDIT: ROWDY, your website is amazing! Mucho respect, Mr. Bourdain is an idol of mine, and you really did his recipes justice.
  2. Here's a little bit of shameless self promotion: Nose to Tail at Home This website is wholly inspired by Carol Blymire’s absolutely stunning food blog, “French Laundry at Home“. After months of reading about Carol tackling quite possibly the ultimate cook book, I found myself awestruck, and angry for being so lazy. I professed to love cooking, love food, but what did I have to show for it? Some very nice knives, a plethora of cookbooks and a slightly used KitchenAid mixer. In an effort to grow my culinary prowess, every week I will try to cook a recipe from the critically acclaimed St. John’s cookbook, “The Whole Beast: Nose to Tail Eating“. If I can make it through the whole book, I’ll start on “Beyond Nose to Tail“.
  3. You guys were a blast too! I'm just really excited to finally meet up with some folks that are just as passionate about food as I am. The blog will be built this weekend I think, or maybe sooner if I can find the time. We can't wait to meet up again!
  4. Sorry again for getting there a bit later than I had hoped. Next time we'll be early. It was a great pleasure to meet everyone as well. Lola's was everything I expected and more, thank you Kent for putting the event together. I've gone ahead and nabbed a url for the food blog I mentioned, so it'll only be a matter of weeks before I get started. Pray for my sanity!
  5. I was completely unaware he had a new book coming out. Thanks for the heads up!
  6. Anthony Bourdain has weighed in on this season over at Michael Ruhlman's blog. http://blog.ruhlman.com/ruhlmancom/2007/06...-kitchen-a.html
  7. Well, that's enough for me. Book ordered.
  8. Oops! My apologies!
  9. Agreed! Thank you Claudio.
  10. My jealousy knows no bounds!
  11. My goodness, how many people were at the table?! And maybe it's just me, but some of the Heirloom tomato chunks look like pieces of sashimi. I'm going to have to try this place out next time I'm in that area.
  12. Congrats to you and your crew!
  13. Thank you for the links.
  14. Pictures like this make me happy I picked the book up. I just need the time to make something!
  15. Wanted to say that I too have had nothing but wonderful experiences with Le Petit Bistro. A coworker lives very close to it and recommended I give it a shot. The wife and I have had delicious food every time we visit.
  16. This thread was what made me join the forums. What an amazing array of dishes. Thank you for a wonderful images and congrats on the birthday!
  17. Reminds me of my time waiting. Very well written.
  18. Thank you for the link! She has gone to doctors about it and was taking shots at one point, but they made her sick so she stopped going. At the very least she's not allergic to garlic like a friend of ours. I don't know what I'd do if I had to cut that out of my cooking.
  19. My wife has serious reactions to peanuts and raw fruits and vegetables. It kills her when I eat apples or salads. Thinking it might be pesticides, we gave organic apples a shot. She still had a reaction so we've ruled that out. Once the apple had been poached though, she could chow down.
