  10. I don't think those are generators. They are just inverters with batteries. They are OK for low wattage use, like phones and computers, TVs and radios, not for any household appliances. dcarch If you read the specs they can power refrigerators... If you get an available solar panel charger, you dont even need to plug it in to charge it.

  16. My Father gave my Mother $99 in support in the 1970s after the divorce. I used to go with her to the market Does anyone remember the "Meat Stretcher" that was sold in the meat case? It was in a plastic bag or box, white with red and black writing It might have been an A&P or Acme Mkts exclusive... Also my mother used to make this meatless meatloaf made of those roasted soybeans. The soybeans werent mushy, they were springy to the bite, I miss it, does anyone have any recipes that dont make the beans too soft?

  20. Do you say the same for those members here who eat Tonka Beans, Fugu, Kosari (the jury is still out on the tummy cancer claims) Cyclamates, Pot Brownies or Casu Marzu? I believe that many things are made illegal in the USA for corporate greed and politics. I dont eat a whole lot of Middle Eastern food, so Id be eating a tiny tiny bit...Like maybe 1 teaspoon in a whole year, I dont think thats gonna kill me. The amount of beetles in 1 teaspoon of Ras, is negligible right? I just like to have the complete authentic products if possible
  21. C'mon, what are your thoughts on Birds nest soup?
  22. I saw an article today about a young boy who found a chunk of Ambergris on the beach and its valued at $60,000.00. http://www.globalpost.com/dispatches/globalpost-blogs/weird-wide-web/whale-vomit-worth-63000-found-8-year-old-charlie-naysmith Ambergris is the resinous vomit of Sperm Whales. Its used by perfumers as a scent fixative. Knowing that its now illegal for civilians to collect it on the beach in the USA (the govt wants that money to themselves)* I did some research to make sure and came across something highly interesting. I searched eGullet and found nothing so im super excited to share something new in the culinary world... According to Wikipedia Charles II;s fave dish was Eggs and Ambergris, leading me to Google that and come to this Gourmet Mag article http://www.gourmet.com/food/2008/01/ambergris Would you eat it? *I obviously didnt read that it was collected in the UK, not USA
