  1. Excellent! I look forward to meeting you in person. We haven't firmed up the venue yet but as soon as we have we will start a planning thread for next year.
  2. Here you go - Picard's Trophy makes toffee butter peanuts which I think is the same thing.
  3. Some bags are more challenging than others with them.
  4. Of course if you have a Cuisinart Steam Oven - you can simply put the covered mold into the oven and steam at 190 for 40 minutes.
  5. So that is an older version of the 8 lb size with the 8 lb large bowl. You would put the small bowl on it it and/or replace it with the 8 lb bowl both with the new stainless fittings. If you have the tilting base you can put the 10 bowl, the 8 lb bowl or the small bowl with replacement of the middle post.
  6. Looks like a mold for a steamed pudding. That was my first thought - then looking at @Margaret Pilgrim's post I realize it has a center post. So flan it is!
  7. I'm sure some of the stuff in my house is more than 10 years old - low available water - low fat so little risk of rancidity. I use it!
  8. So that's the 8 lb size? Going to suggest you contact Melangers.com and talk to them about getting a new set of stones with the stainless setup. Confirm with them the setting of the nut - but we have been told to turn until it starts to grab then one full turn. If you hear any squeaking or other similar noises back off til they stop. The new stones have the metal washers that don't come out - you'll be thrilled!
  9. You are tightening too much. You get smoother faster when there is actually a tiny big of space between the wheels and stones. You need to replace I would say. What brand is it?
  10. I missed that demo - I did see her doing it and it looked like it was going well and I did manage to taste a small shard and have brought one dipped piece home.
  11. I broke it - then sucked @alleguede in to help me.
  12. Came out well - flavour wasn't as complex as I would have liked but apparently sap can change throughout the season.
  13. Hopefully as everyone gets home they put up their pictures. Also as we have done in past years - if you could suggest one thing you learned from the workshop. That's my favorite part.
  14. Using the inexpensive theragun substitute to level out the slab. Today I managed to use that slab to break the first string on the guitar.
  15. Day 2 cherry filled croissants.
  16. Got a few random pictures - this is Bernie's second batch of sponge toffee - this one worked nicely - he enrobed a bunch of it.
  17. Apparently gummies attach themselves permanently to parchment.
  18. Now - where did I put that plastic wrap?
  19. Here you go for proportion - the egg is about 5 inches tall
  20. Here you go Bob - got it in 1
  21. We totally impressed all the other diners when we pulled out our show and tell and put them on a side table.
