  14. Sounds good - I shall see what I can do about Alo - as long as they don't care how I'm dressed
  15. The hubby and I are heading to Toronto tomorrow for a few days away from home. No conference, no workshop - just a few days in a posh hotel while someone else gets the kid off to school and tucks her into bed at night. We discussed going somewhere warm (after all it is February in Canada) - but with only a few free days - to have a travel day at the beginning and end would make it not much of a break. We will be downtown - King and Spadina area and would love some suggestions of places to eat within walking distance. Not too interested in playing dress up to eat out - so nothing too posh. I know I'm not too far from the Dumpling House - I've tried to make it there before unsuccessfully so maybe this time it will happen. Touristy things will probably be the ROM and maybe the AGO. No Hockey Hall of Fame for me - sorry Melissa. Perhaps a run through Yorkville, maybe a trip up the The Art Shoppe to ogle the Stickley if they still have it.
  16. Well done Choky! Welcome to eG - sounds like you will fit in nicely here.
  17. Now the pressure is on to come up with some new toy - I've been working on some screen printing again lately - but that's a little big to stuff in my suitcase.
  18. Being a huge fan of cuisinarts - I once bought one of their blenders - really noisy piece of crap!
  19. Recipes to use in a bladeless Cuisinart?
  20. That electric shaver is a thing of beauty! Perhaps for the suction thing - glue it with silicone - remove it when the new one shows up.
  21. Hacker Pschorr wasn't it?
  22. Freeze dried fruit powder is an excellent idea - no added moisture. I'd still add a titch of citric or tartaric acid to cut the sweet a bit and boost the fruit flavour.
  23. How about a meringue? The old 7 Minute Frosting is a classic and can probably be doctored with some fruit puree and a bit of citric acid to cut the sweet.
