  1. Thanks Elsie - Matt did mention Atelier - didn't bring any posh clothes though!
  2. At least - I suspect with a cup of sugar it might even make a dozen.
  3. Hubby and I made a quick decision to take the train to Ottawa for a couple of days. The friend who took care of the rug rat for our trip to Toronto last month is still upgrading her nursing and deciding what she wants to do going forward approached us and asked if we would like to get away again. As child care for a disabled child is rather difficult to arrange - it seemed like a good plan! So we are currently on-route - having just left the VIA rail station in Kingston. Managed to get my meal totally out of focus! \\\\ Notice the vegan S'mores on each tray - they are made by a company that EZtemper did a little consulting with back in 2015. They had just got a big contract with Starbucks to provide vegan biscotti and they had purchased a tempering machine that was a lemon! They used the EZtemper until we sorted them getting a different, functional, automatic tempering machine. I contacted mkayahara for some restaurant suggestions - but welcome any other suggestions that folks come up with.
  4. Butter Tarts 2 tbsp butter or hard margarine 1 tsp vinegar 1 egg 1 cup brown sugar ½ cup raisins vanilla Bake at 375 for 15 minutes.
  5. The controversy continues!
  6. Looks like Chef's Warehouse has some of them.
  7. I travel that way frequently though - so keep it in mind.
  8. Chef's Warehouse is operating out of the Qzina site if I understand it correctly.
  9. I could send 4-5 kg for around $26 4 days
  10. No joy checking my usual suspects - Chef's Warehouse has 2 flavours only. I can pick up from Qzina or Qualifirst for you and send.
  11. Straight back to CW! And don't let the agent tell you that you are wrong - that's crap.
  12. When I was in university I took a lot of psychology courses - and I recall learning that if you do something for someone once that YOU are forever in their debt. Backwards to what you would think that if you do something for someone that THEY are in your debt. I have observed the world since and discovered it to be true. So what does this have to do with the price of tea in China? Since you have given them recipes once - it now makes it much more awkward to say no going forward. But I agree with all the posters above - your recipes are an asset to your business and you need to retain them. So some combination of the businesslike and humorous "NO, but thanks for asking" needs to be your stance going forward IMHO. If you want extra storage space - buy it with money!
  13. Not that one - the Sosa product is just so good that I haven't even bothered to try.
  14. Crunchy frogs - just a little bit of freeze dried caramel bits in each.
  15. CSO is perfect for making David Lebovitz's Chicken with Caramelized Shallots . Steamed some green beans in a skillet on the induction hob.
  16. I like the look of the first one - mostly cause you are making your own curd - a lot less ingredients.
  17. I think it's time for a new bake-off. Carrot cake is one of those items that varies significantly from place to place - in common they seem to contain carrot - and cream cheese frosting is fairly ubiquitous - but beyond that they vary from cakey to fruit filled and very moist. So let's show them off here - recipes welcome!
  18. Indeed - Voortman's is right in Burlington - good for certain cookies but we discovered that a lot of them don't lend themselves to dipping. The wafer cookies delaminate when you dip them - making for a very unattractive appearance.
  19. Brought this chocolate salami along for the staff today - gave it it's confectioner sugar rub right before dropping at the desk. Tiny little cheddarwurst sausages - perfect breakfast snack!
  20. Nope - Commercial Bakeries
  21. What can I say - I'm an enabler!
