Michael suggested the Eureka in the Castro and his hubby Curtis met up with the 3 of us. Caipirinha for me. Something with Cucumber for Michael's friend - have forgotten the name of the drink. Two of us had the fried chicken. Tritip Gumbo with rice on the side! For the benefit of @HungryChris Saw this lovely installation on the uber back to the hotel. So you can see the reason that I didn't post my meals yesterday was attributable to the 3 drinks I had! That's about 2 over my limit - and the reason I posted breakfast twice.- 88 replies

I tend to use the microwave to melt - so I'll put the bowl back in for 7 seconds at a time, stirring after each nuke, until I get the temperature back up. I will do the same thing with a hairdryer/heat gun when I have to at a trade show.

Met up with @alanamoana and we wandered off to see the Feve production facility. We were a little early so we stopped at an interesting pottery producer that is adjacent to the Tartine facility (which I forgot to take pics of). This picture is for @patris to admire the glaze! -

It was actually quite nice - liked it better than the other with the honey. -
Unsatisfactory - but possibly due to some issues with the microwave itself as I recall.

I used to have a vacuum microwave - picked up from ebay I think. It would have worked for something like this. I put a vacuum jar in it, attached it the vacuum tubing that ran from the jar through to the back wall of the microwave to a pump, then microwaved on very low powers for short bursts. I never recall doing any herbs in it. My aim at that time was to concentrate liquids.

Candy melt pot is too hot - you could attach it to an Ikea dimmer switch and dial the temperature down.

Dropped in to Trader Jo's which is about a block and half from my hotel. Mike checked me out - we had a lovely chat. They have their own brands of single malt! Here's my haul from Trader Jo's - dinner tonight was corn chips with salsa - binned the guac cause it didn't appeal. Going to work on the wine when it chills a bit. Along with an nice cup of tea with some milk. Here's my haul from the FFS.- 88 replies

Yup - hydraulic adjustable marble table. Suitable for pastry work, tempering, eating at... these tables (and there are more than one) will be in the teaching area of the factory. Not temperature controlled though. -

A little reading has brought me to the realization that madeira cake is served with it - not made with it. Unlike sherry cake which is made with cream sherry. -
