Looks like the tops off green peppers.

Okay, I would eat that. I bet it would be wonderful served over mashed potatoes too. Presalted a NY Strip Steak yesterday and grilled it tonight. Moe and I shared it. I offered to make roasted potato wedges to go with the steak and salad, but Moe said he would be happy with just the salad.

Made Moe a breakfast sandwich. Homemade sausage, topped with cheddar cheese and a fried egg. When I made the burgers last night I mixed a little ground pork into the beef and had just enough ground pork leftover to make a breakfast sausage patty.

It is highway driving, with five lights and if I hit all green lights I am sometimes home in 10 minutes. The dark shapes are Kalamata olives.

Tried a new recipe tonight. Definitely a keeper. We both thought it was wonderful. And so easy. I didn't leave work until 5:15, got home just before 5:30 and we were eating before 6:15. Recipe is from Fifty Shades of Chicken A Parody in a Cookbook. Looks like a lot of good recipes all with suggestive titles. The one I decided to go with had one of the more tame titles "Flattered Breasts". Would definitely make again. I had intended to make Pasta Aglio E Olio as the side, but the sauce on the chicken was so good I decided to just increase it slight and serve the chicken and the sauce over the pasta.

Made Moe a sundried cherry tomato and cheddar omelette. Found these semi dry cherry tomatoes at a specialty store in Victoria and will pick up another jar next time we go into town. Amazingly good.

It is those potato pancakes that I want. Although I would be happy with the red cabbage too. Halibut fish and chips on the menu tonight. Beer battered with twice fried fries.

@PatrickT, that is where having some experience comes in handy. Some doughs just take longer or don't act the way one expects them too. Looks like your patience paid off. Beautiful loaf and the crumb is also very nice. Sourdough batch started last Friday and went into the fridge until Tuesday night. Left on the counter until 4:00 AM yesterday morning. I started a biga on Tuesday night and made the dough yesterday morning. It was ready to go late afternoon. Baked eight baguettes. Both batches were baked for a friend. I think this was the most bread I've baked in one day.

Thai Grilled Chicken with Hot and Sweet Dipping Sauce. Recipe is from the Hot Sour Salty Sweet cookbook.

Breakfast for two. Bought these wonderful buns from a Victoria bakery yesterday and decided to make toasted bacon and tomato sandwiches for breakfast.

I made a kind of cheater version of a chicken curry and Aloo Gobi together in one pan in the oven. I got the idea from Andy’s East Coast Kitchen. I used the combination of spices to make the curry powder that I would normally use in a chicken curry and mixed it with olive oil, grated ginger and two garlic cloves to make a paste. I made just enough for dinner. Two chicken legs and two thighs, a sliced white onion, cauliflower and a couple of potatoes cut into eights. Toss all of the ingredients with the paste, salt and pepper and placed in a shallow casserole dish , drizzled with a little more olive oil and roasted in a 475°F oven for about 45 to 50 minutes. Turned the chicken and the potatoes once. Near the end I added a little homemade chicken broth. Finished with chopped cilantro and served with basmati rice. Was surprising very good. Moe loved it. Definitely a keeper and the perfect way to have curry on a work night.

Sorry to hear about your husband. I hope he is home with you soon.

Neither of us wanted a big dinner tonight so I kept it simple and made a favourite , tuna pate, and served it with little slices of baguette.

Moe wanted last night's leftover soup for breakfast with the little sourdough roll baked this morning. Buttered.

Fed my starters yesterday morning and made three Levains each with 55g of discard. Made three doughs last night, two with 1000g of flour added and one with 600g. Kept one of the 1000g batches out on the counter over night and baked this morning. The other two went into the fridge and Matt took the smaller one out this morning so he can make pizza later. The other one will stay in the fridge for a day or two. Today's Sourdough bake. One oval, four baguettes and a little roll.

Tonight's dinner was so good and very simple. I had some ground pork that I had been thinking of making a pasta sauce with when I got home from work. Instead I made an Asian style soup with pork meatballs seasoned with chopped green onion, ginger, garlic, sesame oil and a little soy sauce. Shaped into little meatballs and simmered in a pot of chicken broth. Broth was seasoned with a few slices of ginger and a couple of cracked garlic cloves. When the meatballs were cooked I cut up some zucchini and added to the pot. Simmered just until tender. Added some rice noodles , cooked for a few more minutes and served garnished with chopped cilantro and green onion.

We had Migas for breakfast. Cut up and fried leftover corn tortillas. Added to the scrambled eggs along with some shredded cheese and served top with homemade salsa and black beans that Matt cooked this morning.

I've used Home Cookin Recipe Software for probably 20 years. They come out with upgrades every so often. Every few years I would decide to pay the small fee to upgrade but I haven't done that in a while because the upgrades were not something that I needed. It has a number of features such as Grocery Lists and Meal Planning that I don't use. But I've found it a great place to safe all my recipes to.

Taco Tuesday. Pork (Carnitas) on homemade corn tortillas. (Matt made the tortillas). Made a pitcher of Sangria. My favourite drink with Mexican.

Thanks Shelby. I don't think either Matt or I will make another one. Just not the style of pizza either of us like.

Sliced one of last night's baguettes this morning for breakfast. Toasted and topped with sliced tomato, salt and pepper. Makes the best toast.
