  5. coldcut style turkey and ham cilantro penut butter sweets shrimp except raw. I just don't care for them, really lemongrass in anything

  7. also if you want it really thick whisk really fast in the beginning and when it starts to hold some weight you can slow down. it's a workout but well worth it. dont forget to use alot of salt otherwise it may taste "funny"
  8. I almost vivdly remember the first time i had Sushi. It was at a joint that is now a mexican spot. The year was 1986 (making me 4) and my mother, twin sister and I went to this place for lunch. I don't especially remember anything other thant the fact that the staff at the restaurnt were extrordinarily friendly. We all munched through california rolls and tuna and things like that. all was well until I choled on some nori and puked my way fromt he table to the bathroom...quite humiliating, even to a youngster. To this day and much to my own chagrin and embarrasment, I find myself peeling off the nori perhaps I will learn to chew...

I would not shock a pet or a loved one by serving them a pet or a loved one. all else is fair game religion, allergys, preordained food RESTRICTIONS fine, I don't mess with them anyhting else is fair game. If you bug out when I surprise you with sea cucumber, we're probably not real friends anyway...

I hide the last portion of many-step-to-cook foods like egplant parm or lasagna it drives me nuts to see that it's been zapped and eaten in front of the tv...and also I like to thing the last bite of anything I cook is mine (I lie to think so I'm also about to start hiding the bottled water from my boyfriend...it's too expensive to drink like it's the only water on earth...I dunno, it's treat water. anybody else feel that way or am I losing my mind?

    make a light beer batter and deep fry some slices..sounds gross gross but is good dipped in some lemon juice (or something else acidic) with a little black pepper.

  14. so awesome. I just got may dad (myself) the same smoker for his birthday (yesterday) and will be making him (myself) some brisket next weekend. I look foreward to some rain type situtions...but am very excited. I wish my dad were as tenacious as you are....pork butt all the time. very lovely job! thanks for sharing with us.

  17. I think the two have become somewhat synonomous, yet I've always thought cottage pie ahd tomatoes and cheese on top shepherds had just mashed potato. Also as a kid we always had beef in our pie (Liverpudlian nanny) hmm..seems ther's not much standardiztion.

  19. I'm in culinary school right now. We all live to show off...I'm sorry but if my polet roti grand mere is better looking than yours it's because...naturally, I'm a better cook honestly though- I show off to satisfy myself, and thrill others. To me the two are mutually exclusive...

  22. went to jas last night. It seemed like everyting was frozen except for a few tiny fish in vacum bags. perhaps because it was sunday? I bought some uni (offseason?) at Sunrise and it was a delight. Perfect ocean scent, no nastiness etc. I wonder though- It was packed the day before (so it said) do you think it was previously frozen then thawed and packed? By the way, someone get the sukiyaki kit. it looks so cool. I can't afford it now (uni more important) but ho wrad would it be to make perfect sukiyaki all daaaaayyyyy off subject sorry...
