Thanks for the kind words Kim and glad you enjoyed your trip. Today, I made another Parsi style egg, called Sali per Edu (Egg on Potato Sticks). The contains the same ingredients as the Akoori, plus the potato sticks. You can also make this with potato chips (wafers).

Nice Brisket dude! I don't think the professional BBQ places up here make them that good, especially that burnt end. -
Thanks Franci. I would gladly trade you some eggs for those wonderful creations of yours on the dinner thread! Great breakfasts all! Over the weekend I cooked a Parsi Nowruz feast for a dozen or so friends. One of the must have courses is egg, so I made them Akoori. This is the leftover I had for breakfast.

Nice Butt Bruce (BBQ I mean). Kim, congratulation on your 30th anniversary! Kay, those biscuits do look good. If I ever attend Memphis in May, I will add this place to my list of must eats. Thanks Lochaven. A few catch-up breakfasts: I love Sausage Egg McMuffins, but hate how they cook the eggs. So it struck me - why don't I buy it without the egg and top it with my own fried egg - Voila Soft Scrambled Egg w/Sichuan Double Cooked Pork (Belly) Fried Eggs w/Maple Sausage Links Huevos Rancheros

Scrambled Eggs w/Anchovy Omelet w/green chilies and shallots Scrambled Eggs w/Sichuan Chicken in chili oil

Patrick, Nice Bhindi (okra) and chicken. If you find the texture of the okra to be a little al dente, you can pop them in the microwave for 30 sec before you saute them.

Interesting blog and looking forward to it. The food pics and descriptions are helping me narrow my next food-travel destination. -

percyn – Recipe adapted from My Bombay Kitchen (with considerable inspiration from your luscious soft-scrambled eggs). I have yet to see ramps around here, but I will keep an eye out at the spring farmer’s markets. Thanks for the tip. I have to ask - was your uncle making the "6-7 other things" himself? If so, he was far more energetic in the morning than I am. Ahh...my Bombay Kitchen is a fine book....and thanks for the compliment. My grandfather's brother was a bachelor who lived a few buildings away, so he would stop by around 9am by when the servants and women of the family would have made him these eggs, roti, toasts, butter, jam, fresh cream, tea, papads. As kids we used to make fun of that, but now I see he was just another person who loved his breakfast...like me

Ahhh... Lasan Nu Edu (Garlic Eggs). Where did you get this recipe from Bruce? Try them with some ramps in spring - easy and delicious. My great uncle used to eat these everyday for breakfast, along with 6-7 other things.

O...M...G!!!! Where can I get one of these? Is this in the EMP cookbook? Great meals all. Scotty, that lamb and squab looks excellent. Blether, awesome tartare. Kim, will certainly let you know if I am in Richmond and will make you the paella. Bruce, nice looking green beans Continuing the meatfest, I decided to make Momofuku's Bo ssam (except I could not get fresh oysters) Cured and refrigerated for 12 hrs and after 1 hr in oven at 250F. After 6.5 hrs in the oven Digging in (or as David Chang says - "savage the meat with two forks") Plated with lettuce, rice, kimchi, spicy sauce and scallion/ginger sauce Close Up ETA: Dessert - A version of Pineapple upside down cake - OK, more like a rum and pineapple topped cupcake.
-
Kim, I love canned corned beef too, but it does not compare to a housemade version. Today I had Deviled Eggs w/Anchovies and Capers.
-
Amazing food all. Kim, I have been contemplating a BBQ roadtrip to escape the cold weather, so your post of the brisket hit home (or specifically, my tummy) the hardest. Here is a Paella made last week. It had chorizo, chicken, shrimp, mussels and squid. On a less appealing front, yesterday we used up some leftovers from a Super Bowl party Nachos BBQ Meatball and Sausage sandwich with Coleslaw (a take on a pulled pork sandwich) - very easy to make. Simply add 1-2" cuts of smoked sausage, meatballs, cover with your favorite BBQ sauce and simmer in your crock-pot for 3-4 hrs.

This blog is cool...and funny. It is great that you can do "computer stuff" from a beautiful farm in Wales. I have been trying to convince my wife that I can do "computer stuff" from a beach in the Caribbean but looking at those pics, I should probably buy a farm instead. Have you tried lamb lungs? They taste great when grilled.

There are several reports of the ones in Paris, NYC and Las Vegas. I have been to all 3 and the food is comparable, which is to say it is great!

Very nice Bruce. Xilimmns, did you just compress the Peaches or did you cook them as well? Kay, I can identify with your dog as my face resembles hers when I read this thread

Welcome back Kim. Pan fried Masala Grouper on a Curried Israeli Cous Cous and Garbanzo beans (store bought) Fish Tacos

mm84321, Good to see you on this thread. What kind of egg is that? Looks like a custard or bisque. More Fried Egg - this time with Chorizo and Hollandaise on an English Muffin. Sort of like a Mexican Eggs Benedict. Breakfast Burrito - Chorizo, Scrambled Eggs, Salsa, Hot Sauce

Fingers crossed for Prawncracker.

Welcome jpwcollins and lochaven. Skirt Steak Tacos and the leftover skirt steak becomes breakfast with some chimichurri

Thanks Bruce and Dejah. Once you start making these, if you are like me, you may start intentionally saving some leftovers to make breakfast.
