  1. BBQ omelet sounds great...will have to try it soon.
  2. Very nice looking breakfast Bruce. rotuts, while uncooked eggplant may not have much flavor, grilled eggplant takes on an incredibly smoky, sweet, umami flavor, similar to raw onions vs. "caramelized" onions.
  3. rotuts, my wife does not like Eggplant but she loved it on the toast with Chanterelle.
  4. Spaghetttti, welcome back! That mango looks delicious. Been busy lately so not many posts, but here are a few hopefully worthy posts: Went for dinner to this small plates place, but could not pass up a few breakfast type dishes: Soft Scrambled Eggs w/Shrimp Butter and Uni - roll your eyes back good The eggs and uni were accompanied with... 9. All good food and drink recommendations but let me add another to the list. If you are a fan of Bravo's Top Chef and would like to have season 7 winner Kevin Sbraga cook some of the dishes he prepared on the show, check out http://www.citypaper.net/blogs/mealticket/Top-Chef-tasting-menu-at-Sbraga.html . I believe it is $75 for 6 courses. The regular pre-fixe is great and offer 4 courses for $49.
  10. And for those staying for Sunday Brunch, Headhouse Market is not far from Han's. http://www.foodtrustmarkets.org/headhouse.html This is exciting...looking forward to seeing existing acquaintances and new. BTW, Katie, thanks for all the hard word in pulling this together.

    Dinner! 2012

Great stuff everyone ! Came across "drumsticks" (Moringa pods), which is native to India and grows at the foothills of the Himalayas, so I made it with some goat and added another vegetable called Gilora (like a Gherkin). Drumstick Gohst - You suck the tender seeds from the pod, leaving the fiberous shell.

    Dinner! 2012

WOW! Andrew, that looks amazing. Max, I am sure that butter poached lobster looked and tasted just as good, if not better, than the one at Per Se.

    Per Se

Sorry to hear that Per Se did not leave as strong an impression as you had hoped, but judging from your posts on the dinner thread, your home meals are at the same level as Per Se. I have enjoyed my lunch visits to Per Se more than my dinner visits, especially during truffle season Hope to see some Per Se influenced dishes on the Dinner thread.

  24. While I have not tried the recipe at http://www.tarladalal.com/Chole-Bhature-2810r, it seems to have the key ingredients, including the Chana Masala and Amchur (dried mango powder), which gives it a tangy flavor.
