I just have to wonder why that is. I do not MW them, but just get a bit of water boiling on the stove top and toss in however many I want. I would be lost without them. They are one of the perfect frozen foods! I like peas a lot as well, but never thought of them as a black market item, until now. HC

The last corned beef from St. Patty day sales came out of the freezer yesterday and made its way to the table tonight. Ninety minutes in the IP, 10 minute PR, the veggies go into the cooking liquids for 3 min and pressure release. A mini St Patty day in December was a good thing. HC

Corned beef tongue Reuben on a single slice of Italian bread from Aldi. I was reluctant to buy it, as it is a 2 lb loaf, but it comes back to life very well from the freezer. HC

While I was thinking about what to do with them all, I would be digging into them one at a time. I love them! HC

@kayb I think that is a pretty good policy and one you should stick with. HC

More broiled oysters at Deb's request. The 75 cents each price is still on. This time, I used aluminum foil to stabilize each shell and contain the liquor with good results. HC

Well, things that have been in the fridge for more than 4 days, go invisible to Deb, or as I like to put it, get left for the catfish, which would be me. I am always trying to use up these "invisible items" and if I tell Deb that I had "catfish pie" for breakfast or lunch, she knows what I mean, but seldom asks for details. HC

Takeout sushi. An occasional indulgence that I sometimes order before shopping in the grocery store next door. Spicy Tuna and Spicy Tuna California rolls. HC

I am glad to read that we share a clear set of established priorities! And I try to buy fresh clams if I am thinking ahead, but always try to have canned clams on hand for just such an occasion. HC

Catfish pie. Now, the only catfish in this, is the one with his fork in his hand, trying to keep the leftovers in check. Last of the leftover spinach, last of the kielbasa and onions and a few strips of brie broiled on on Tuscan toast. HC

On a previous trip to Italy, we went to Deruta, a hill town famous for ceramics, and I bought the little container with the birds, that I use as a salt pot. Over time, I managed to chip the lid, which troubles me to this day, and I often say that I wish I had bought several, because the day that I break it completely, will be a sleepless one for me. We had planned to return to Deruta on our recent trip to Italy, but just never did. On a day trip to a town called Rada, Deb fell in love with the item you question at a place called Rampini Ceramics and bought it, even though we both thought it was over priced and too big for a salt pot. Later in the trip, I bought the one on the left which is my every day table salt pot (as I am sure you can tell from some of my pics) and the older one, with the birds, has been moved by the stove, so that neither one gets moved as often. To answer your question, we still don't know what to do with the one Deb bought, but Deb just likes to look at it on a regular basis, so I use it to keep the napkins from flying around the room when the A/C is on. I think it currently contains Euros left over from our trip. I know that is way too much information, but it is what it is and thanks for asking. HC

Boneless chicken legs stuffed with spinach blue cheese and pine nuts and baked in sauce. I have been eyeing these 2 lb Italian bread loaves at Aldi with bruschetta in mind and yesterday, I caved. HC

In addition to my 67 cent dozen eggs and my $1.33 gallon of 1% milk at Aldi this morning, I found these, which are surprisingly good. HC.

What Beers Did You Drink Today? Or Yesterday? (Part 3)
HungryChris replied to a topic in Beer & Cider
I paid a visit to my favorite local brewery yesterday, hoping for at least one of my favorites. Their Facebook page for the day before listed 2 of them, This side of Paradise (DIPA) and World @ Large (APA). Much to my chagrin, they were out of both when I arrived. I returned home with empty growlers, and a heavy heart. https://www.facebook.com/BeerdBrewing/ HC -

Boy, couldn't we all have one of the best pot luck weekends of all times! HC

Not my intent, I assure you. I have been buying zucchini for months now, and you have been killing me with your endless harvest. Let's just call it even. HC

I want to call these char grilled oysters, but more accurately, they are NOLA char grilled style, broiled oysters, with hot bread for dippage and a little tortellini salad. HC

Poached eggs on Italian toast, scrapple , fresh salsa and grapefruit. On my last visit to Aldi, mixed ruby and plain grapefruit were 29 cent each and I loaded up on them. HC
