Last of the duck eggs, that were a welcome gift. Fried zucchini (my breakfast drug of choice) and some Italian toast. @rotuts will note the hot sauce, which I did like. Just the right amount of heat that does not get in the way of a remarkably good flavor. It will become a pantry staple, thanks. HC

It's raining like hell tonight and we need it! I was going to grill a chuck roast, but decided to stay inside and do soup and salads instead. HC

I was at Aldi picking up a few $2.99 pp chuck roasts for the freezer today and saw a $60 air fryer by the same company with a similar video. https://www.aldi.us/en/grocery-home/home-goods/ambiano/Air Fryer/ HC

Whenever I make corned beef tongue, I usually slice 2/3 of it, portion it out into sandwich sized portions and freeze it for an occasion like today. Corned beef tongue Reuben on Aldi seeded rye, with an Aldi half sour. HC

We went out to lunch yesterday to use up a gift certificate. While the food was good (I had mussels fra diavolo and Deb had shrimp scampi), the portions were huge, so we skipped diner last night. I made up for it at breakfast. Scrapple, garlic and tajin stir fried zucchini, garlic and fresh herb bruschetta and fresh salsa. This last batch of salsa had all the heat I wanted and the hot sauce was just decoration this morning. HC

They had a local special on strip steaks and I found 2 that I liked, so steak night was on. My stove is OOC (lost the touch panel). A new one is scheduled for delivery on Dec 7th. These baked potatoes were cooked outside on the grill . That is why they are so dark, but they were good, nice and crispy skin. I made a small batch of cole slaw for the occasion. HC

Yesterday, I was given some fresh duck eggs, which I celebrated at breakfast this morning. Poached duck eggs, home fries, toast and fresh salsa. HC

I don't think I have ever seen "deli tongue", at least not around here. I had a corned beef tongue sandwich at the Second Avenue Deli once in New York City, but that has been the only time I have ever bought it in any other form than raw in the cryovac. And I always wait for the sale price. HC

Often, when I decide to have linguini with white clam sauce, I go with Stop & Shop chopped sea clams. Tonight, I did so, but added a garnish of the fresh mollusks to the mix. This is a meal we both enjoy greatly. It includes a heavy hand with garlic, some finely chopped shallots, chopped parsley, olive oil, and white wine, all reduced by half before the chopped clams are added. The washed fresh littlenecks go into the simmering sauce at the same time as the pasta goes into the boiling water. I have found that the clams will open at the same time the pasta is done. HC
