  1. Calamari and fries. The lemon garlic aioli has fallen from grace, as Deb used ketchup and didn't touch hers. The search begins for a new condiment. HC
  2. A dirty water dog with sauerkraut, onions and ball park mustard, a few homemade pickles and marinated mushrooms. HC
  3. Poached eggs, home fries made from the excess sliced potatoes that would not fit in the scalloped potatoes dish last night, the last piece of bread in the house, toasted, all rounded out with a bit of fresh salsa. HC
  4. Kielbasa and onions, scalloped potatoes and peas. HC
  5. A marinated beets, asparagus and hearts of palm salad with blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese dressing, followed up by a shrimp cocktail. HC
  6. Bruschetta and scrapple. HC
  7. Leftover Stuffed Shells and a Caesar salad tonight. HC
  8. Leftover sushi from lunch yesterday on a fairly cold morning. HC
  9. Take out sushi and Beer'd Brewery This Side Of Paradise, DIPA. HC
  10. Catfish surfaced briefly this morning, just long enough to scarf down a ratatoulle like toastie consisting cubanelles, onions, endive and, of course zucchini, broiled with slices of brie. Although, catfish through and through, by nature, I felt more like a kingfish upon returning to the depths. HC
  11. Chicken in red curry sauce with cilantro - lime jasmine rice. HC
  12. Rosemary and olive oil Savoritz, brie, Big Dipper chips and a fresh batch of salsa. I briefly thought about adding a third habanero, but decided against it. HC
  13. Potato and cheese perogies, with onions and sour cream. HC
  14. Marie's Chunky Blue Cheese is one of Deb's favorites, so that is what I went with. After a recent restaurant disappointment where the wedge salad came with a myriad of additional distractions, we both agreed that a wedge salad was simple by definition: a wedge of crisp iceberg lettuce and blue cheese dressing, I chose to go the add your own dressing route , even though it does not lend itself well to the photo opp . It was good, and I will do it again in the future. The wedge salad is such an easy concept from a preparation standpoint, it just makes life easier and got good reviews on the home front. HC
  15. Korean BBQ chicken tonight with traditional wedge salads. HC
  16. Found some nice looking pickling cukes and made garlic refrigerator dills. The mushrooms were on sale and looked good as well. HC
  17. These eggs were supposed to be over easy, but a phone call at the worst possible moment put the kiebash on that and of course they are the last two in the house! HC
  18. It is quite simple if you break it down: Scrapple = Good, Ice = Bad. HC
  19. To be honest, I can't remember when I had my first palm heart. They can be expensive as heck, but I will not be denied an occasional treat. A local supermarket has a yearly "can can" sale, and I pony right up to that for the year. Here is a peek at my current stash. HC
  20. Stuffed shells and little salads of marinated beets, asparagus spears and palm hearts with blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese dressing. HC
  21. Dirty water dog with kimchi, mustard and onions. HC
  22. Well, they were on sale at that price for three weeks, but on that particular visit I found some promising roasts and loaded up the truck! HC
  23. Beef stew from one of the many $2.99 pp beef chuck roasts from Aldi in the freezer. HC
  24. I held back a piece of cod from dinner last night, as I felt it would have been too much. I decided to slice it up and bread it with the zucchini (flour, egg wash and seasoned bread crumbs) with breakfast. Of course, by now, you must also know how I feel about bruschetta as well. HC
  25. You got that right!!!
