Catfish surfaced briefly this morning, just long enough to scarf down a ratatoulle like toastie consisting cubanelles, onions, endive and, of course zucchini, broiled with slices of brie. Although, catfish through and through, by nature, I felt more like a kingfish upon returning to the depths. HC

Rosemary and olive oil Savoritz, brie, Big Dipper chips and a fresh batch of salsa. I briefly thought about adding a third habanero, but decided against it. HC

Marie's Chunky Blue Cheese is one of Deb's favorites, so that is what I went with. After a recent restaurant disappointment where the wedge salad came with a myriad of additional distractions, we both agreed that a wedge salad was simple by definition: a wedge of crisp iceberg lettuce and blue cheese dressing, I chose to go the add your own dressing route , even though it does not lend itself well to the photo opp . It was good, and I will do it again in the future. The wedge salad is such an easy concept from a preparation standpoint, it just makes life easier and got good reviews on the home front. HC

Found some nice looking pickling cukes and made garlic refrigerator dills. The mushrooms were on sale and looked good as well. HC -
These eggs were supposed to be over easy, but a phone call at the worst possible moment put the kiebash on that and of course they are the last two in the house! HC

It is quite simple if you break it down: Scrapple = Good, Ice = Bad. HC

To be honest, I can't remember when I had my first palm heart. They can be expensive as heck, but I will not be denied an occasional treat. A local supermarket has a yearly "can can" sale, and I pony right up to that for the year. Here is a peek at my current stash. HC

Well, they were on sale at that price for three weeks, but on that particular visit I found some promising roasts and loaded up the truck! HC

I held back a piece of cod from dinner last night, as I felt it would have been too much. I decided to slice it up and bread it with the zucchini (flour, egg wash and seasoned bread crumbs) with breakfast. Of course, by now, you must also know how I feel about bruschetta as well. HC

Stuffed cabbage and corn from last summer. I may not empty the freezer, but do want to join in the fun. HC

Emeril Lagasse's new Amazon series: Eat the World
HungryChris replied to a topic in Food Media & Arts
I have recently gotten the Amazon fire stick, in an effort to "cut the cable", or in my case satellite dish (right now we are using it with Kodi) and stumbled on this show and binged watched half of it this past weekend. I look forward to the others, as we both enjoyed the ones we saw. HC -
I went there this morning and, much to my surprise, the brie was back in stock. I got 6, just in case it was a last bit of stock. When I asked about it at checkout, I was told that they had a seasonal brie that was stopped, but this one was still on the list. I hope that is true! HC

These Chesapeake Bay littlenecks made me happy as a clam. And these Noank bluepoints made me happier still! HC

We went to lunch at Foxwoods Casino yesterday (lobster bisque, grilled oysters and bacon wrapped BBQ shrimp) and then to the local brewery for growler fills and never made it to the store. I had to make due, but tomorrow is another day. HC
