Neither do I .. and I am assuming that you aren't talking about *yams here, Marcia ... I avoid pickle relish for that very reason .. it doesn't taste right to me anyway if it has any sweetness to it .. a personal preference ... -

When I first read about adding mayonnaise to a chocolate cake, I was horrified but then, and upon further reflection, I regained my composure and reconsidered .. what is mayonnaise but mostly oil and eggs which are already being added to most chocolate cakes anyway ... and I breathed a sigh of relief! but dumping a dollop of actual mayonnaise into the mix would still alarm me on some level ...

So did I, Marlene, and for the very same reasons! And, as far as spills go, I doubt that anyone will be even noticing what with all the food and merrymaking going on! Went to Varmint's Pig Pickin' in Raleigh and all I got was this incredible t-shirt .. and great food, and meeting the eG crowd, and a very hot time ... Onward to Raleigh! May your strength increase and the hurricane not deter you upon this noble mission, Varmint!

Hot!! .. dress the hot potatoes with salt/pepper/vinegar .. then add the celery/onions .. finally the mayonnaise (always the best I can afford ... BTW, the reason for hot is that the potatoes need time to absorb the vinegar .. otherwise it simply melds into the dressing ...
