Thomas' Square Everything Bagel with butter ... this was a first time for me ... and at a whopping 310 calories without butter, it may just be the last time ... -
Eating Well Magazine tests the natural peanut butters ... 2006 ... Nut ‘N Better Organic: Creamy Our winner in all three categories of taste, appearance and texture, this Canadian-made peanut butter can be found on the shelves of Costco or under the O Organics label at Safeway. Smucker’s Natural: Creamy The omnipresent Smucker’s brand garnered second place in all categories. Tasters called its grainier texture “the crunchy-lover’s smooth.” Woodstock Farms Organic: Smooth/Salted This selection was a bit too grainy and sticky for some, but Markowski said, “It’s perfect! It has a nice, sweet taste the others don’t really have.” MaraNatha Organic: Creamy & Roasted Peanut Butter & Co.: Smooth Operator Teddie Old Fashioned: Smooth Anyone agree on any of these?

Met a lovely woman on a tour who was somewhat elderly and in need of some physical assistance but who was one of those "Most Memorable Characters" that were made famous by Reader's Digest over the years. I digress ... Norma was a travel afficianado and she shared her memories at meals over some two weeks as we explored Buddapest, Vienna, and Prague. She returned to the United States before I went on the Salzburg ... but she was truly a "find" and remains a friend even unto this day. Turns out that she is an aunt to Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut. I am so glad that I introduced myself to her! On my first solo trip to London, I met a number of people who insisted that I spend time with them after meals .. wound up at places like London's Chinatown with one couple (who bickered over everything!) and then another couple who took me through a castle with them. I think one can rather sense who to speak with while traveling solo ... who is amenable and interesting ... Oh yes and then there is this repressed memory: two bickering newly-divorced nurses from New Jersey took me through Madame Tussaud's once .... the axe in the dungeon began to look mighty interesting ...

Melissa, the website for IKEA Atlanta shows the location of the store in relation to the rest of downtown. It is not far at all really and, if I were you, I'd opt for the short cab ride. Because it is a brand-new store, I imagine that everything is state of the art ...

That is so cool! Thanks for the idea!

You most certainly have come to the right place, Anne! How about some ceviche made with local fish? Or even a gravlax as an appetizer? as for those who can not tolerate seafood, maybe something vegetarian in nature? There are so many variations which would bring in ethnic cuisines ... planning for 25 is not going to be oppressive, just fun and very creative ... Congratulations! This sounds like a perfect wedding!

I don't know much about religious-related pans but I do know that, in simplicity, there is room to 'think outside the pan', so to speak ...

Gee, and I thought the new Devil in Disguise were the sickly sweet sodas which we swill with abandon .. and which make our petite pancreases put out gobs of insulin and the fat goes pouring over our ventricles ... Soooo, which food is the true antiChrist?

Guessing that two out of three isn't too terrible ... sorry about your experience at South City Kitchen though ... have never been there but from the looks of their website and the accolades, I would have expected something considerably better: South City Kitchen

I am usually game to try something "different" just to see how it tastes together ... the components I actually like: the burger, the bacon, the cheese, the sweet doughnut.... I might try it together and then separate out the components that seem to go well together ... the cheese + doughnut sound the worst .. the bacon and the doughnut sound okay .. you get my drift ... more than once? highly doubtful ....

The place near Tara is called South of France and they have been there forever .. or at least since the Civil War ... One place I remember fondly but which is gone now was on Peachtree Street and was called The Coach and Six .. anyone remember that one? One "are they still around? & would you go back there?" would be The Colonnade on Cheshire Bridge Road but they still do a good business, from what I recall ...

The distance is exactly 265 miles which I have driven in 5-6 hours, weather permitting ... I am equally anxious to sample Chef Brock's cuisine at his new location. Coming from you, Chef Blais, this is some compliment on a fellow chef's abilities! Thanks for your input here today!

Speaking of square bagels, wasn't the original bread of the Jews in Egypt under Pharaoh square as well?
