Most conusmed spirts in the US and the World?

Can anyone provide a link or source that states that vodka is the #1 sold spirit in the World and in the US?

I think in the US vodka passed bourbon making bourbon #2 I assume.

Are these claims true?

According to the Distilled Spirits Council of the US, in 2005 vodka accounted for 27% of all the distilled spirits sold in the US, followed by rum with about half that amount, then bourbon with about 9% of the market followed by gin and scotch and then tequila with about 5% of the market.

But don't let these numbers decieve you, there are a lot of ways to interpret the numbers.
