I just got a review copy and it looks interesting with a lot of historical conjecture. I was a little taken back when I read on page 5 that pot stills cannot produce rum less than 85% alcohol.

Has anyone read this yet?

I bought a copy about a week ago but haven’t gotten a chance to read it yet. It sounds fascinating with the emphasis being more down to earth dealing with the human connection to rum over the years. I’ll try to post a follow-up once I’ve finished the book.
