It seems there recently have been rumors of Trader Joe's stores opening elsewhere as well. But I noticed another, unrelated posting on Craigslist that also insisted a Trader Joe's is coming to the West End, so I decided to probe. I emailed the Craigslisters.

One woman responded that the future store is on 25th Street NW where L and Penn intersect. She wrote that there formerly was a banner printed with the Trader Joe's logo and "Coming Soon", and that, peering into the building's windows, you can see the "trademark wood paneling" on the walls and the aisles of shelves being set up. She thought it would open in October.

The other Craigslister brusquely suggested that I call Trader Joe's. So I did. And ... they confirmed that Trader Joe's West End will open at 2425 L Street NW, hopefully around the first of September.

So there you have it.
