Anyone interested in going?

Yes, I did. The emphasis was far more on the business end of trying to get loans, hiring various colorful people to do the construction, etc (my favorite was the segment with the Sign Guy...). The interviews with successful New York restaurant owners were also interesting; it was amazing how people in the same business could have such different attitudes.

And if you've never been to Big Picture, it's a pretty cool space... very different from a normal movie theater.

I love Big Picture. I'ts definitely an enhanced movie experience. I'm glad they are showing this again because I have seen most of the movies that they have been showing lately.

I kind of wish I had seen Paul Mackay speak though. It would have been interesting to hear what he had to say.

Hey, I just saw this movie! I just got digital cable from Comcast, and while there's a lot that I don't understand about it, I did figure out one option. Apparently you can watch tons of shows whenever you want to, just like with TiVo. 'Eat This New York' was on the Independent Film Channel, and it's still there last time I checked. I think it was the 'menu' button, followed by a minute or two of sorting through options.

I loved the very short bit in the kitchen at Restaurant Daniel. You can see Boulud hustling around making a couple of different things at once, totally calm but busting ass. At one point he stops, looks over at something someone else is doing, and says firmly, 'Don't do that.' It was cool.

If we aren't supposed to eat animals, why are they made of meat?

I saw it, too. Maybe it was just my mood that night, but I found it kind of boring. After the movie my friend's commented "what's the point of watching someone else go through what I've gone through". She's been dealing with our local liquor control board so that part of the movie was particularly familiar for her.

I loved The Big Picture though. I can't wait to go back.
