I've been meaning to go to Din Tai Fung (sp?) for years and never got around to it. I did a search for dim sum on egullet and didn't come up with anything.

Is there anything in Monterey Park or OC right now comparable in quality to Vancouver (Richmond) or SF? I'm out of date.

I love cold Dinty Moore beef stew. It is like dog food! And I am like a dog.

I like "Seaworld". The restaurant not the theme park. In rosemead on Garvey. Big room lots of carts, lots of menu items, lots of service, Not a lot of caucasians. Prices are right and quality is very good. But not as good as Richmond / Vancouver area.

I would pass on Empress ( all locations), Ocean Star or Royal Star, NBC seafood, or Harbor seafood. IMHO

Oh you're killing me - I so miss good dim sum. Does DTF do just dumplings or other dim sum too? And dfunghi, why don't you like Ocean Star? I was partial to them because I thought they were good - and had weekday discount prices!
