Fishmonger - East End to South West

im looking for a good fishmonger close to the liverpool street/spitalfields market area. otherwise, one between this area and south kensigton.

i've been craving sashimi for a few days now - and i'm hoping to deliver today.

Isn't there a decent one in Leadenhall Market? Next to the Lloyds building.

You closest bet is Leadenhall Market where a Billingsgate fishmonger has a retail outlet (can't recall the name).

I think it is Chamberlain's

He was a fish trader ( two haddock= 1 pollock ) who opened a restaurant andn wet fish shop. It is very expensive and not a patch on Mr Hatt, but worth a try

The wet-fish stall at Chamberlain's lasted a matter of months.

The one that's been at Leadenhall market for ages is good though, and still going.

The fishmongers is called Linwoods, they've got a royal warrant and I'm sure they're over 100 years old. Get down there as soon as you can though as the good stuffs normally gone by around 1pm when the city boys get in there for scallops and lobster. They had some brill on yesterday which was fantastic - braised it last night with some hoegaarden, shallots, celery and carrot.

great - i'll be off in about 30-40 minutes....can't beliebve it's only 5 minutes away and i've never been there.

i'll let you all know what goodies i managed to get.

it was a bit farther than i though - i found linwoods and picked up some salmon fillet, tuna and a swordfish steak. the salmon looks excellent.

they had some very fresh makarel - but im not the biggest fan when eaten raw.
