I found some holographic chocolate molds from Hans Brunner. I contacted the company in December about additional information regarding them and have not heard back. (I resent the request an hour ago).

Does anyone have experience with these (or similar) molds?

I want to know the cleaning situation, limitations, and life expectancy of the technology. Cocoa butter use is one concern. I found years ago that the holographic concept was emerging, but the problem was the fragility of the holographic structure. I'd love to purchase them if I knew more. I was going to buy only one because the price (currently at 200 euros) was a deterrent in getting multiples, plus shipping.

If there's another thread about this, I could not find it.

Never another thread about these. Maybe contact Vantage House who seems to sell them and see if they more information?

Thanks. I also got a reply back from Hans Brunner today, saying:

Thank you for your interest in our holographic moulds.

The holographic effect is created by nano-scale surface structures on the chocolate, which are transferred from our specially designed moulds. To preserve this effect, we recommend keeping the chocolates in a cool environment, as excessive heat can cause the fine structures to soften and diminish the effect.

Our moulds are made from high-quality polycarbonate and can be cleaned with warm water and mild detergent. Avoid using abrasive materials to ensure the longevity of the holographic design. While our moulds are designed for durability, we do not yet have long-term experience regarding the lifespan of the holographic structures under continuous use.

Regarding availability in the USA, we do ship internationally, and for example the shipping costs for a small parcel to the US by DHL Express would be approx. 50.00 EUR.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

I'd still like to know if others have experience with these molds and their thoughts.
