Dinner in Philly for Large Groups

Hello,

Does anyone have any suggestions for restaurants that can accommodate a large group of about 30 people for dinner that is mid-priced, not too formal/stuffy and caters more to the local Philly crowd?

Thanks,

Liz

Liz,

I hosted a dinner for about 55 out-of-towners last September and frankly had problems generating any interest in our event. Dozens of email and phone calls to perhaps 15 restaurants went unanswered, then....

My kids found Supper Restaurant. The owner's Mitch and Jennifer Prensky were a delight and very enthusiastic to all of our ideas. They have a beautiful space and serve imaginative and delicious food.

Good luck,

Tim

We have an upstairs private room at Chick's that's perfect for that size group. Click on the link in my signature and you can see the menu, email the chef for suggestions, etc.

La Fourno does a really nice dinner for my group of 20-30 friends every year in their upstairs room. Really decent food & nice service, pretty flexible with setting up a menu, allowing additions, not rushing us out, and reasonably priced for what you get. And they let us get away with a lot of "shenanigans" while we're there, so certainly not too formal or stuffy!
