i watched an episode of a cook's tour and tony's in thailand (also another time in cambodia) and he's eating this banana desert. it's brown on the out side and looks to be in some sort of syrup. anyone have any idea?

Gluay Buad Chee or Gluay Bua Chi? (Bananas in coconut cream, same dish, alternate spellings)

Gluay Khaek? (Banana fritters)

"Gluay" means "banana", so keep looking for deserts with "Gluay" in them: you will find it sooner or later. Both of the above are listed in "Hot Sour Salty Sweet" ...
