  1. They are delivered by trucks that say Imperfect Foods (They merged a year or so ago.) I don't think they say where they come from. Yesterday was my delivery day. I got an email around 3 pm saying it had shipped. I clicked on the tracking and it said the truck was about 5 minutes away. And it was. But that's what I mean--why am I getting these emails so late? And I have complained. Last time, they never responded. I think they just don't like me. Ha!
  2. We went to Costco yesterday and their produce department was also way down--most notably, onions and potatoes!
  3. Misfits was depleted from the minute my window opened this time. I keep wondering if it is something about the distribution center that serves my area. A couple of weeks ago, delivery was a day late with no notice about it. I don't get communications from them in a timely fashion. Often the email that tells me the order shipped and some items won't be in it doesn't go out until after the order is already here!! I can't plan meals if I don't know what I'm getting. And my other regular grocery order goes in just prior to this one, so it is too late to order from them if Misfits is out of something. Ready to quit Misfits again.
  4. Is it just here in our area, or is everyone in the country experiencing a shortage of food--mostly produce--right now? My Misfits Market order had to be submitted last night. I had already put a few things in the cart, but when I went in to finalize it, there were a grand total of 4 vegetables available to choose from. And 2 of those were tofu. When I began talking about it with friends in the area, they said that all the stores are depleted. Is this a factor of people stocking up to get through the dreadful weather we've had this month, or is it that weather has been so dreadful throughout the country (and even the world), that the growing areas have not been able to produce as usual?

    Dinner 2024

Broiled salmon with buttered fettuccine, Tuscan kale and tomatoes.
  6. Yes, agree with Empire Kosher. I forgot they carry that. I was really referring to their own packaged chicken.

I will roast veggies alongside anything or on their own. My sister recently called me the Queen of Roasted Vegetables and I wasn't sure if she meant it as a compliment or if she is tired of always having roasted veggies when they come here. I love nearly any vegetable roasted and it is quick and easy with minimal clean up.
  8. For some reason, the chicken I've gotten at TJ's always has an odd texture to it.

It used to be. They have done their best to completely ruin it by developing so much that the beauty and historic charm have been completely destroyed. Nothing but fast food and discount stores now. We plan to list our house this Spring and will definitely look outside of Liberty for another place.

You guys have probably had much worse weather than we have!!

    Dinner 2024

Comfort food for the horrid weather we've been/are having. Meatloaf, potatoes and carrots.
  12. Unless I got rid of it, I have a chopper thing that looks like that, though may be a different brand. I've never used it and have had it for probably at least 10 years. I'll look around to see if it still lives here.
  13. I'm making meatloaf later and used the Salad Shooter a while ago to make breadcrumbs. So easy and fast!! I love this already!!
  14. I had reward points to use, so got a Presto Salad Shooter. It arrived yesterday, but haven't used it yet. I can't wait to shred some cheese without aggravating my joints.
  15. Same here!
  16. I got rid of my air fryer. I use the function on my oven or the one on my toaster oven. Much easier. I found the air fryer appliance difficult to clean and couldn't conveniently fit whatever it was I wanted into it.

    Farro

I really like it every time I have it or cook it, but seldom think of making it. I need to bump it up on my radar.
  18. I will keep a manual opener or two just in case I run out of batteries or whatever. You never know!
  19. I finally had the occasion to use my new can opener. Opened 2 cans and it worked great! So easy and no sharp edges. Yay!! (This is the red/white opener discussed above.)
  20. I made around a year ago--one with bourbon and one with vodka. Have not tried them yet but they both look and smell fantastic!
  21. I have an aversion to eating food that is on the table. Even if it is on paper. I would hate that. And it sure doesn't leave you much room for your drinks or whatever. In that last photo where they are dumping the wok, I see the corner of a phone right next to it. I'd be having a heart attack if that was my phone.
  22. @TdeV, I've had the same issue with foaming dispensers and I also sometimes make my own or use concentrated soap that you dilute. I find the pumps last longer if I use distilled water to make the soap. And if they fail, try taking the pump and soaking it in a white vinegar solution to clean it out. Sometimes helps. I think a lot of this issue has to do with how hard your water is.
  23. Nope--just my antique Weber kettle.
  24. I always take it out of my Breadman before baking, too. I never thought about the paddle getting stuck on, I just don't like a big hole in the bottom of the loaf.
  25. I have the skinny type and it is increasingly difficult for me to hold onto with my arthritic hands. I'd trade it for a paddle type any day.
